  • Excerpt: The DRW-24B1ST proved to be a solid performer during testing while still running quietly and efficiently. Burn quality is reliable too – I burned everything from movies to data to music with this drive and each and every disc turned out perfect. The price is very easy to take as well.

  • Conclusion: ASUS made this drive with the intention of saving energy and keeping the noise to a minimum. We weren’t expecting shattering transfer rates and mind boggling burst rates, but we were expecting a little better performance.

  • Conclusion: The results of the testing are in, and the ASUS DRW-24B1ST has not disappointed. It performed as well as any drive of comparable speed and type out there. We can't be too surprised that the DRW-24B1ST solidly outperformed an external USB 2.0 burner, but we can be impressed that it performed better...
