Great Drive

Jordan M., Newegg
21 June 2007
  • Summary: Definitely consider this drive if you don't need a burner.
  • Pros: This is a fast drive that works extremely well. Also, very quiet, you can hardly hear the drive spin up.
  • Cons: none at this point

Works

Nick V., Newegg
28 March 2007
  • Summary: The cheapest CD drive I could find. It works just fine, a tad bit noisy like all of them are, but otherwise no complaints.
  • Pros: Inexpensive, nice looking.
  • Cons: None.

Good

Matthew C., Newegg
30 January 2007
  • Summary: Don't forget to change the jumper to master when you buy this (if its your only optical drive), I had mine as a slave for the longest time until I looked at the jumper.
  • Pros: Very Quiet, and reads fast! Exactly what I needed.
  • Cons: None here.

Nice

Anonymous, Newegg
15 November 2006
  • Summary: It's worth the money. For my Gaming PC this is perfect, since it restrains any temptation to add non gaming programs and potentially making it my PC instead of my Gaming PC. The drive can get rather loud, but when compared to other drives that I had it performs beautifully.
  • Pros: very very quiet and nice looking.
  • Cons: Can be non-quiet at times

didn't work

Joseph S., Newegg
22 October 2006
  • Summary: I'm sure I could RMA it, but shipping it back would cost half the price of a new one, I'm gonna call this karma for all my other parts working and be happy the part that went bad was so inexpensive.
  • Pros: looks pretty, great price, I like that the tray is black in addition to the faceplate.
  • Cons: doesn't work. I've gone through a lot of trouble shooting steps and have conclusively decided that it arrived broken. I don't really have any hard feelings, it's very inexpensive and I just got unlucky.
