This is a great piece of software

wilsonolly2020, Dooyoo
3 October 2010
  • Excerpt: Microsoft XP just works. XP has been around for a number of years which makes it a truly tested software, businesses still use Microsoft XP which is a testament to how good it is. I've been using XP for number of years now and even though Vista and now seven are out I've don't want to upgrade.

Full version would have advantages

Douglas Wilson, Amazon
7 July 2010
  • Summary: If I had it to do over, knowing what I have learned since, I would buy a full edition of XP rather than an upgrade. This is because Win98 would still be available for another computer, or multi-boot. Also, I have lost the use of a small digital camera for which no XP drivers are available. The upgrade licence agreement stipulates that my prior version of Windows may no longer be used.

  • Excerpt: My windows experience really began in the mid nineties when Bill Gates revolutionised home computing by perfecting his windows browser, Windows95, which meant his old Windows 3.1, a boring dos office package of basic columns, tables and blue and yellow text ect, suddenly became extremely old fashioned.

  • Excerpt: Windows XP is an operating system created by Microsoft for use on computers. I bought my first laptop about 6 years ago and this was the operating system which was included in the sale. * What is Windows XP? * As stated above, Windows XP is an operating system produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers. It was first introduced in 2001 and follows on from Microsoft 's earlier products, Windows 2000 and Windows ME.

Better than Vista

7 July 2009
  • Excerpt: Windows XP is an operating system developed by Microsoft. It was first released in 2001 but has since been succeeded by Windows Vista and the forthcoming Windows 7. I have experience in using both XP and Vista (my work computer is XP, whilst I have Vista at home) and I can honestly say that I much prefer XP. When it was first released many people weren't impressed with XP, but I have grown to love it.

I would be lost without it

becksfletcher, Dooyoo
11 August 2008
  • Excerpt: We all have a little bit of a moan now and again about Windows but the majority of us use it and go back to it again and again. Windows is so popular and most of the people who use computers tend to use it. A lot of computers come with Windows as standard but you can buy it separately, however this is expensive. Windows has many different features, most as standard and has games built in so you can play. It has an explorer so you can search the internet also.

Good and reliable

  • Excerpt: I have had andused windows xp for several years now and have just advanced onto VISTA however I would say to all people with XP to stay wit this versions of windows. The xp version has a wide variety of software that works from windows 98 also but on the new windows version of VISTA not many windows 98 software works with it.
