Cons: I was unable to use this product. It was purchased to support a work around. The installer is incapable of recognizing Intel AHCI disk drivers. Intel do provide 32 bit and 64 bit drivers which could be installed via the F6 option. However, Intel's documentation was contradictory on whether I shou...
Summary: Nothing reliable and usable about this operating system.
Pros: It works sometimes
Cons: As the title says, a terrible Operating System. It crashes and locks up all the time, even on 1GB ram. Its rather large on the hard drive. Looks terrible. Poor security and reliability. It also is very ugly. I only bought this to run some apps alongside my 3 Linux installations, but forget it, im...
Summary: Microsoft will only assist XP users who have service pack 2. I had to order a disc from them with service pack 2 only (had to pay shipping only) before they will assist. They wouldn't let me download it and burn to a CD. Seems like nothing but red tape for the sake of red tape.
Pros: Works OK if no problems. My issues were most likely hardware issues. An internal USB card reader caused problems.
Cons: Original install in new PC went bad. Product key accepted so no problem there but install froze afterwards unfinished. Attempted to install in same PC again with same hardware. Product key would not be accepted this time.
Summary: Tried to reinstall over initial install without luck. Disk repair function unable to correct bad install. Never has an OEM XP Home OS acted this way after numerous other builds in the past. Had to RMA.
Pros: Inexpensive. Used OEM's on past 6x builds with no problems.
Cons: No SP2 sticker on CD envelope (unlike previous issues to me) .Got a bad disk this go round and got only partial install lacking network support, installer launchers and various drivers. Slipstreaming SP2 to disc may correct the problem but fancy filing and pathways requires a bit of know-how.
