Summary: I installed the new windows 8.1 and for some reason my applications often freeze up. I have ran Norton 360 to keep my computer clean. No viruses have been found by Norton, and I'm out of ideas. If this continues I might change back to windows 7.
Cons: -Incompatibility with everything old -Crashes galore -Weak user interface -Difficult to change settings -The OS itself takes up too much processing power -Irritating strict "security" that blocks programs
Pros: - Fast - Stable - Start Screen is very quick to launch apps. - Fast boot - Runs better on old hardware - Windows Explorer is much improved. - Better multi-monitor support. - Better with system resources. - 8.1 is even better.
Cons: - No shadows on most Windows (although Office has them) - "Metro" apps. No use for them. - Any other "Metro" settings controls. This can be bypassed by simply using the Control Panel. - 8.1 upgrade was hard to find.
