Summary: I transferred 7.2 GB of files to a 2.0 USB FD and it took about 25 minutes under Win 7 Pro on this computer and a Dell 690 workstation al 3 times. Windows 8 Pro on this computer took 5 minutes.
Summary: people on the internet complain about windows 8.1, well, its not that bad, the backend of windows is greatly improved and everything runs smoother. i can access everything i need via rightclicking the 'start' icon, and search still sort-of works.
Excerpt: Installation is straightforward; Some what it is new approach, in the beginning it is going to take you few extra minutes to know your way to get around. From last sixteen years I do most of my personal work on mac, and I can't function without P.C.
Pros: Easy To Install, Fast, Great Value, Powerful
Excerpt: It's not a bad OS. I rather like how when I change the background, the UI changes colors to match it. It's really neat. Start screen is a bit awkward but it handles itself fine once you get used to it. Really nice if you have a multi-gesture touchpad like my wireless keyboard does.
Summary: Best used with a touch screen. I changed the system so that it goes to the desktop instead of the start menu on the screen, I prefer that much better than allowing anybody walking by at a glance and seeing information on your screen.
Summary: Who thought its was a good idea; 1). To put big fat tiles all over the screen. 2). To hide the desktop 3). To make it necessary to go through that pesky tile screen to find the arrow to find your programs.
