Include magnifying glass?

Kriss B., Newegg
8 March 2014
  • Summary: Since Windows 1.0, 3.0, 3.11, Win95, Win98, Win98 SE, Win ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8... Let's consider, we've paid $100 average for each upgrade (of beta software as it's always requiring updates, it's never a final product). $100 x 13 in what I've listed here... That doesn't include the server OS' that are a bit more in price. $1300... We don't get a price cut at any point???
  • Pros: It's pricey... As expected, but it was fast to install. I'm not a big fan of Windows, but I find myself too lazy to figure out Linux... So it's a give give... Overall I'm happy, but my wallet is thinner.
  • Cons: Where's the Magnifying glass? H**Y C**P, just write the COA in Greek, then only a few can utilize it! As a Computer tech, my eyes are TIRED from the constant screen strain, now you too want to play a role in blindness?

"The jury is out for me."

SidarthaG, CNET
10 October 2010
  • Pros: Looks nice. Plays a mean game of Freecell...
  • Cons: Eventhough I had more than enough horsepower to run Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, they sytem would lock up tighter than Fort Knox and the only way to get back up and running was to shut the system down. After investigating I found I wasn't alone.

"Very Unstable program, it freezes repeatedly."

hocicote, CNET
11 May 2010
  • Pros: It's fancy looking and seems Microsoft is inching toward improvement in some areas like simplifying searches and connecting devices.
  • Cons: Very unstable. It freezes even before you can enter your password. Then you have to start it over and over until your log-in appears and may be it will work. Definitely a pain! I haven't had this much trouble with a Windows OS since Windows 98.

"No need to upgrade if you have a stable OS"

ktteraji, CNET
9 May 2010
  • Pros: Flashy, looks like a Mac. I was impressed at first by the beautiful appearance, new taskbar is fantastic but as I used it more and more.... see cons.
  • Cons: Microsoft removed user customization. Sloppy organization. Drag/drop is frustratingly difficult. Custom sort, gone! To many permissions and the updates, so many updates slowing the computer down. Driver issues are huge, but expected of a new OS.

18 March 2010
  • Pros: Lots of new features, very positive experience with respect to user interfaces, ease of use, standardization of interfaces, and built in diagnostics and updates.
  • Cons: Major problems with updates breaking things faster than I can fix them, disappearing and reappearing devices and drivers, and really terrible support.
