A great refresh of the Splinter Cell Series
9 September 2013
Summary: I am thrilled with this game. I have loved Splinter Cell since the first game, but always felt it was so ambitious, that the hardware (of the time) was holding it back. Now with the power of the Wii U, the hardware has evolved to be able to really showcase what this series is about. Blacklist is a refresh of the series, bringing in Motion Capture animation, and a new voice actor to the character of Sam Fisher.
Pros: Everything (especially the gamepad features)
Cons: some issues with online (which Ubisoft is actively patching)
Summary: I think this is a great game to have for the Wii U. Ubi makes great use of the gamepad and it looks great on this system. But what holds it back is the online. Ubisoft has yet to release a patch so co op and spys vs mercs is almost unplayable most of the time. But same problem with all other systems.
Summary: The game is great, it's the only one I've ever played other than a GCN demo a long time ago. When I saw there were Co-Op missions I was curious if you could play local multiplayer and was disappointed to find out they were only online. Then I was even more disappointed when I found out that the other versions could be played as local multiplayer.
Pros: trying to complete levels as ghost vs panther
Summary: A quick synopsis of Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the Wii U. The campaign is great, with decent voice-acting, a decent variety of gameplay in the missions, a lot of weapon options, and the ability to play three different styles. The Wii U game pad is used well, both for off screen game play and for segments with the tri rotor (a remote drone). There are some sound issues on the game pad, but subtitles take care of the missing voice.
Pros: The single player campaign is challenging and compelling.
Cons: The load screens are painfully long and the multiplayer isn't working consistently.
Summary: This game has a compelling storyline that will make you want to finish it. It gives you several options to deal with enemies. You can bypass them entirely, go in with guns blazing, or sneak up on them and take them out using non-lethal or lethal means. There are a lot of different gadgets that you can buy and upgrade and a variety of side missions.
Summary: Great stealth action game that is augmented by superb use of the WiiU gamepad. Equipment selection and use is easy and flows great on the second screen. Difficulty can be aggravating but is rewarding. Graphics could have been better and certain load times chug... Other than that great stealth action game.
Pros: Intriguing gameplay with surprisingly engaging story.
Summary: This is my first Splinter Cell game. The story line is compelling. The Graphics are simply amazing and jaw dropping. I love playing spys vs mercs multiplayer! The controls on the WII U pad are smooth. If you are a WII u owner do not hesitate to buy. Show Ubisoft and other 3rd party companies that Nintendo i a great market for them!
Summary: This is without a doubt the best 3rd-party game on the Wii U. Ubisoft has been consistent in their support for the Wii U when many others have cancelled or delayed games, and this game is a perfect example of their willingness to support the console in it's current sales drought. The graphics are better than the Xbox 360, and the gamepad integration allows for increased immersion in the world.
Pros: Excellent visuals and Gamepad integration--better than PS3/Xbox 360
Cons: Loading times and lackluster multiplayer community
Summary: Technically and graphically this game is brilliant, it brings a different and in my eyes a preferred standard to a shooter game. It is something different compared to other shooters out there which are pretty much first person shooters like call of duty and battlefield, i tend to find them all the same in the ways of winning.
