Excerpt: My son has been wanting this game for awhile but there were always other games that he seemed to want more whenever we bought a new game. Many of those other games were a flop and after getting this game I wish he chose this sooner. We all enjoy this game in the family and its tough to please everyone. I wish more than 2 players could play at a time like Mario U other than that not much to change about this game.
Excerpt: After upgrading to the WiiU about a month ago, TRU had a sale on the starter pack. At the lower price it seemed like a good deal to add Skylanders Giants to our growing list of WiiU game. (We already had the game for out Wii system) Essentially the same game, graphics, and controls with one great exception. The game can be played soley on the WiiU controller! The TV doesn't even have to be on that channel.
Summary: I am giving this game a 4 out of 5 because it lacks a few things like jumping and very few words your character says. However the Game is very fun being able to swap out characters in the middle choosing what you need to get through the game. The game seems to keep you on edge just a little bit to know whats happening. It is fun to play if your bored you can just sit down and pick a character and go through the game.
Pros: the ability to choose Characters
Cons: you need to buy other skylanders and cant jump
Summary: I got this game originally for the Wii for my second cousin. I played the story with him for a while then we did battles. This game is really fun for all ages. I ended up buying this for the Wii U and and some figures so we had different types. It can get costly but worth it if you want to play a game with your kids.
Summary: Our kids like using the different characters. The characters have their own personalities and skills. The giants are strong but slower and more cumbersome. The other characters are faster and more agile but sometimes not well suited for the task. The kids sometimes swap characters too much which can detract from the game (and cause fighting) but that is not a fault of the game itself. Characters can get expensive. Seems the kids "need" a new one very day!
Summary: This game is surprisingly fun! The characters are all unique and play differently and quite enjoyable. This game does not require the purchase of additional toys, but plan on getting some more. There are 8 element types and some areas are only open to a particular type, so you'll at least want to get 1 of each type. Finding tokens also unlocks moves for characters you may not have yet and if so you can watch a video to see their moves and how they play.
Summary: Fun game, but a little disapointing. The giants, for the most part, are slow and clunky and their size makes it frustrating to manuver through the puzzle areas. The new characters are fun and the added arena challenges brings something new for vets of the first skylanders game.
Pros: Fun kid friendly story
Cons: Giants are too slow and clunky to use effectively
Excerpt: My kids have the original Skylanders and love it! Unfortunately, they didn't get this one for Christmas due to ToysRus.com sending it for the wrong game system (xbox instead of Wii U). I tried to do an exchange in store but the item was out of stock. I'm sure it's a fun game and they would have enjoyed it.
