Summary: I bought this game as soon as it came out, i was amazed at how much fun this game was, especially playing the 2 player mode. The AI is very challenging, not like so many racing games. The fast paced racing will keep you on edge. V-Rally 99 features many cars such as the Subaru Impreza, Citroen Xsara, Ford Escort and Renault Megane. Split into 3 classes, WRC, Kit Cars and Bonus.
Pros: Good graphics, challenging AI, good multiplayer fun.
Cons: AI can seem to hard sometimes, spinning out at the slightest collision can get frustrating
Summary: It can be difficult to find a decent racer on the N64 that doesn't feature 'power-ups', strange monkeys in planes, italian plumbers with huge moustaches, or cars that go up to 600mph and fly other jumps, defying the laws of gravity, and then lkand perfectly. For anyone looking for a realistic, challenging, and addictive racing game on the N64, then this is it. With superb car physics, opponent AI, selection of tracks and difficulty curve, its a winner.
Pros: Realistic, addicitve, enjoyable
Cons: poor collision detection, cars too easily spun
V-Rally Edition '99 (N64): V-Rally, so nearly a winner

Summary: Why Why Why didn't this game get the N64 treatment instead of being like the Playstation version. It could have been siqnificantly better with regards to graphics, sound and smoothness. The graphics are poor as well as collision detection but the game has sheer bucketloads of playability. For some reason annoyingness of spinning for no reason, trickyness of the tracks and the high skill level of the opponents seems to drag you back over and over.
Summary: Cheats to help you with VR on playstation. Cheat mode: Quickly press Up, Down, Circle + Triangle when the Infogrames logo appears. The phrase "Lock Off" will appear to confirm correct code entry. (Note: Press Up, Down, Triangle, Circle, Up, Down, Triangle + Circle for the Pal version of the game). The arcade medium and hard tracks may now be immediately selected. Additionally, one of the following codes may be entered to activate the corresponding cheat function.
Summary: This game does what it says in the sense that the physics are fairly similar to real world driving, and that's what makes it so tough! You can execute pendulum and hand brake turns, but you've really got to practice for along time before you get them completely polished. If you're looking to blast around a track at full throttle within 10 minutes of plugging it in, don't bother with this, buy Mario Kart.
Summary: I paid £15.99 about 6 months ago and thought it was a bargain. Guess what! It was. It has very sensitive controls admittedly but the realism and handling of the car is a class above the rest. Don't get me wrong there r better games out there but for &15.99 you get more than what you would expect. The stages are realistic and the cars hand-brake very well. The fun you can have on the snow stages makes this well worth the measly £15.99.
