A different version of the game was released for the Game Boy Color. The game was published by license-gobbler Activision and developed by Traveller’s Tales. The PlayStation and Nintendo 64 versions of Toy Story 2 are exactly the same in design. Players control Buzz Lightyear, the Tim Allen voiced astronaut hero from the movie, on a mission to save his pal Woody (Tom Hanks) from an evil prospector named Zurg.

Features

There are fifteen levels in this game. The levels are divided into five zones (3 levels per zone). The game is featured with a map where player can choose a level to play from the map. The first level is only available at first, but the player can unlock more levels by collecting Pizza Planet tokens. Each level starts with an FMV scene taken from the movie. At each level, the player must complete the objectives to collect Pizza Planet tokens. There are five tokens on each level. A player has to collect minimum one token to unlock the next level. In every last level in a zone, the player has to fight a chief to carry on to the next zone. A particular amount of tokens is required in order to access a boss level. When the player defeats a boss level, a bonus movie will be unlocked and can be viewed at any time. On the first level of every zone, Mr. Potato Head is missing a part which the player has to retrieve so that he/she can unlock an accessory so that some tasks can be solved. Returning to old levels later in the game may be required to do tasks that couldn’t be done earlier. On the last level, the player will face the Prospector, the Gunslinger (Al’s Penthouse) and the Blacksmith (Tarmac Trouble).

The space ranger with the big heart (even if his brain doesn’t exactly move at the speed of light) rambles through backyards, construction sites and back alleys in search of old pal Woody, the pint-sized victim of a nefarious toynapper.
