Excerpt: "Well what can i say, this game was a hit when it first hit the stores. This was the game that made the N64 famous. Luckily it was the consoles first game. This game has great graphics for a N64 game, especially an early N64 game. Plus features a very large variety of levels, a total of 15 courses each being very large in size, and having secrets of its own. This game will keep you busy for a long time, probably one of the longest lasting games you ...
Pros: Great Gameplay, Great Graphics, has a good set of music and sound effects
Cons: No Disadvantages to this game, except lack of multiplayer .
Summary: Let's face it. When it comes to appeal, Super Mario 64 just doesn't make sense. Poor graphics, blocks of coloured pixels, an Italian plumber with a bushy moustache, a colourful outfit and a strange world where mushrooms give you extra lives and when you attack creatures there, they release coins. Whilst all of this may sound a little unusual, it may surprise you to know that Super Mario 64 is considered one of the greatest games of all time. And it's easy to see why.
Pros: Simple, yet challenging, utterly fun, addictive and all-round excellence.
Cons: Retro graphics - if that is even considered a disadvantage, dubious undertones...

Summary: Mario was always a 2D kind of guy, but thanks to the N64, he was transformed in to a 3D masterpiece, blowing everyone away with a quality, well designed game. This is brilliant. Everything about this platformer is fun, colourful and entertaining. The gameplay is wonderfully smooth, and Mario can perform a variety of movements, including higher jumps, triple jumps, wall kicks and even crawling. These are all very easy to pick up.
Pros: Fun, colourful, easy to play,
Cons: Sometimes a bit easy, but there's a lot of stuff to do!
Excerpt: "Super Mario 64 was the first ever super Mario game to be presented in 3D. Many, many gamers couldn't wait until the day super Mario 64 was released was it going to be a smash hit just like his previous 2D games, or was it going to be a disaster. Of course it turned out to be amazing the way Mario moved brilliantly in 3D, his moves he could perform whilst shouting words with glee ya! wahoo! yipee!! The way the levels were presented and the way you ...
Pros: Outstanding 3D platforming, excellent music, classic mario charm, loads of varied challenges
Excerpt: "...based games including the unforgettable Super Mario 64, which was the launch title for the game console in the beginning. It was also one of the first 3D Platformer games to be invented, giving players a lot more control over Mario’s actions including, walking, running, jumping, crouching, crawling, swimming, climbing and punching, by using the analogue stick and buttons on the controller. Mario’s abilities in Super Mario 64 is a lot more diverse ...
Pros: classic N64 game, more control over Mario's actions than previous mario games, fun
Summary: One of the most recognised 3D platformers in gaming, this is also regarded as one of the greatest Mario games of all time. The aim is to rescue the Princess Peach from Bowser, by collecting stars from a group of levels ranging from an ice world, to a fire world, a fortress and a submarine base among many others. Each world houses a number of stars to be gained by different tasks.
The Nintendo game that must be played before you die!
21 July 2010
Summary: This is one of my favorite Nintendo games! Me and my friends used to play on this for hours and hours, we even asked some more friends to help us complete the game! But we managed to! Mario gets invited by Princess Peach to visit her at the castle, but when he arrives at Peach's castle, she is not there, but the evil dinosaur Bowser, has taken her away and everything else that belongs to Peach and Mario, but there is one thing Bowser hasn't stolen, and that is Toad, the...
Marios first foray into the third dimension is absolutely classic
17 June 2010
Excerpt: "Mario 64 was Mario’s first outing into the world of 3D. But it was more than just Mario’s first 3D platform game. It was the first true platform game to enter the third dimension too. Just as Shigeru Miyamoto created a new genre with Donkey Kong (as well as Jumpman, later to become Mario), he revolutionised this genre with Mario 64. From the beginning it is clear this game is going to be fun. On the start screen is Mario’s face. You are free to contort ...
Pros: A truly classic title that still stands up as a brilliant game today
Cons: Controls do feel slightly clunky compared with more modern Mario titles
Summary: =====My opinion===== Super Mario's first 3D game, and also the first one for the N64. It's basic engine is also used in the famous Ocarina of Time, with changes, of course. The graphics are great, due to hardware capacity, wich Nintendo really knew how to use. =====Storyline====== The storyline is the classic one, with some changes: Peach invites Mario to have a cake (possibly with some "Hot Coffee", if you can understand me xD), when Mario reaches the castle, he...
Summary: When the N64 was released in the UK in 1997 it made its mark instantly largely thanks to often being bundled with Mario 64, which was released at the same time. Best described as an action/adventure/3D platformer, Mario 64 was truly a sight to behold to kids of the 90's who had previously only experienced the 2D magnificence offered by the SNES, Megadrive and a host of older consoles.
Pros: Early N64 success, big colourful maps, awesome Mario moves, plenty of gameplay hours
