Perfect Dark review (N64)

HonestGamers
3 April 2005
  • Excerpt: I probably don't need to tell you about how much Goldeneye rocked. It was the Doom of console shooters, a game that brought popularity to the genre not only because of its relative novelty but also by its superb quality; the fact that it's just as playable today, almost a decade later, is a testament to Rare's brilliant design. But enough about that. I'm not here to talk about that timeless classic but rather its successor, Perfect Dark .

And only you can stop them. Playing as the Carrington Institution\'s best agent, Joanna Dark (the only agent to score an A++ in all training scenarios.), you have to uncover the mystery behind the evil corporation, called dataDyne in this story.

  • Excerpt: Long awaited and, frankly, long overdue, Prefect Dark is finally here. The follow-up to the smash hit Goldeneye 007 – which still garners praises as the best first-person-sneaky-shooter on any console and which is also the all-time best-selling game in Canada – Prefect Dark surpasses its predecessor with sophisticated Artificial Intelligence, superior lighting and sound effects and "secondary firing" features for some 35 weapons.

Perfect Dark Review

17 May 1998
  • Excerpt: Throughout Nintendo's history as one of the world's most popular videogame companies, a few ingredients have been key to its success. At the top of that list, is revered game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto, whose imagination reinvigorated the industry years ago and continues to be a pioneering force of innovation and creativity today. Not far behind Miyamoto on that list would have to be UK-based, second-party game developer, Rare.

Perfect Dark Nintendo 64 Review

DarkZero
25 September 2005
  • Excerpt: Perfect Dark is the second FPS that was developed by Rare that graced the Nintendo 64. Many had hailed GoldenEye which was released over 4 years before as the best First Person Shooter to grace a console ever, so the title had a lot to live up to. It was almost an insurmountable task for Rare. Would they better what was deemed at the time to be already Perfect ?
