• Excerpt: Perfect Dark is Rare's unofficial sequel to GoldenEye 007, one of the best games ever created. Even though PD is inspired by GE in style and feel, it is apparent that Rare wanted to create another title that warrants a purchase of the N64 by itself.

 • Excerpt: Long awaited and, frankly, long overdue, Prefect Dark is finally here. The follow-up to the smash hit Goldeneye 007 – which still garners praises as the best first-person-sneaky-shooter on any console and which is also the all-time best-selling game in Canada – Prefect Dark surpasses its predecessor with sophisticated Artificial Intelligence, superior lighting and sound effects and "secondary firing" features for some 35 weapons.

At the top of that list, is revered game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto, whose imagination reinvigorated the industry years ago and continues to be a pioneering force of innovation and creativity today. Not far behind Miyamoto on that list would have to be UK-based, second-party game developer, Rare.

Perfect Dark Nintendo 64 Review

DarkZero
25 September 2005
 • Excerpt: Perfect Dark is the second FPS that was developed by Rare that graced the Nintendo 64. Many had hailed GoldenEye which was released over 4 years before as the best First Person Shooter to grace a console ever, so the title had a lot to live up to. It was almost an insurmountable task for Rare. Would they better what was deemed at the time to be already Perfect ?

 • Excerpt:
Perfect Dark

The game that could overtake GoldenEye as the N64's premier first person shooter is getting it's very own GameBoy Color game. Now the cynics among you may be shouting "cash-in" already, but hold off for a bit, as this game is being developed by Rare themselves and looks to compliment it's bigger brother (or should that be sister?).
