Jet Force Gemini (N64): JFG - The N64's best shoot 'em up/Adventure game?
23 September 2001
Summary: Jet Force Gemini. Huge and 3D, with big guns. The best shoot 'em up adventure game I have ever played. Some awesome graphics, sounds and storyline considering it is a shoot-em up. First you will see a cut scene showing Juno, Vela and Lupus in their ship when they see on their screen Mizar's drone's killing, torturing and capturing the evil tribals.
Pros: Great Graphics, Long gaming, Some awesome sound effects
Summary: Why is it many don’t see the attraction of Jet Force Gemini? You play a group of young people (and a dog) Lupus, Juno and Vela and fight against the evil ant army. It is absolutely brilliant and has probably some of the greatest graphics you will ever see. Sounds childish well your wrong the game is filled with gore and guns and to gain cheats and extras you have to collect heads!
Excerpt: "...best the adventure aspects of Jet Force Gemini are equal to if not better than those in Banjo-Kazooie. With tons to find and do this game is packed to the gills with extras, each of the games three characters has different abilities so at times it is like you have three different games! The mad-cap blasting fits perfectly with the exploration, the enemies are very intelligent and there is always lots to consider before you rush into the action. It ...
Pros: Great characters, lots to do, awsome action, brilliant A . I .
Cons: A bit tough, rubbish story, boring weapons .
Summary: Those guys at Rare really know what they're doing. They provide with such games as, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo and Kazooie and Diddy Kong Racing. With all these excellent games flying about, they have to be sure that there next game will live up to the reputation Rare have built for themselves. So the big question is, Does Jet Force Gemini live up to what we expect? In plain and simple terms, it does. It is hours of bug blasting at it's best.
Pros: Bug blasting mayhem. Good graphics. Loads of weapons. Surround Sound encoded.
Jet Force Gemini (N64): JFG: what's all the fuss about?
6 March 2001
Summary: Jet Force Gemini is a shooting/adventure game for the Nintendo 64. It was released a year or so ago and has received much praise. I for one can't see what all the fuss is about. Firstly, it was developed by Rare, who you should know by now make great games. Their software history includes Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong 64, and Banjo Kazooie etc... You get the point, these guys make excellent games. They are like what Squaresoft or Namco are to the Playstation.
Summary: I bought ths game after a friend reccomemded it to me, before then I had never even heard of the game. He described it as being, fast, something new and a really good all round adventure game. I was not dissapointed! The game has all this, and more. There are loads of levels, loads of enemys and level bosses. Three characters to choose from and and a whole range of weapons to blow the enemys away with!! The game has a definate storyline which is relativly easy to follow.
Excerpt: "...to the previous comments on Jet Force Gemini, the game, like any has good points and bad points. While JFG may not be as instantly accessible as other comparable offerings, I found it a hugely enjoyable game to play. For one, the graphics are simply the best I've seen on the N64. Perhaps JFG's imagery doesn't quite come on par with some of the latest offerings on the Dreamcast and PS2, but for a 64-bit console, these graphics as good as it gets. ...
Pros: Best Graphics on the N64, surround sound music and SFX, excellent gameplay
Excerpt: "Great game, great graphics but alot of problems. Sure the game is amazing, the graphics are outstanding but there are some irritating trends in the gameplay. You're constantly repeating levels, and doing activitys that you've done before. It can get very tedious and it is very difficult to keep concentrated for long periods of time. Sure it is an enormous game but it is also really annoying trying to find out where to go next, after you've feated ...
Excerpt: "Another mindblowing game by rare. This game exceeded all of my expectations and is quite literally, stunning. The game is based upon an invasion by an evil drone army, and you play any of the 3 availabe characters to defend an innocent world. The graphics are amazing, and the levels are blended together with lush animations. The gameplay, although simple, is ultimatly rewarding when you blast an entire drone regement away. With a gripping storyline, ...
Summary: Jet Force Gemini is one of Rare's latest offerings and it is one of the best yet. You play three characters - Juno, Vela and Lupus (a dog). Using all three characters you battle along their set routes until after about 15 hours of play you meet up in the middle arena at a palace. The palace of the evil Mizar who has kidnapped tribals and put them into slavery. Here you defeat Mizar but he escapes.
