Great game, good for some 4 player fun.

  • Excerpt: Diddy Kong racing was one of the first games i ever played on the N64, built in a design some people viewed as similar to Mario Kart 64 this is not a game to miss out on. The game mainly consists of winning races in order to progress through the adventure mode, unlocking new tracks and battle arenas for use in multiplayer mode. The game supports up to 4 human players in both races and battles.
  • Pros: 2 Player adventure mode, 3 types of vehicles, a lot of tracks .
  • Cons: AI can seem too easy, but when you reach the 2nd adventure it becomes harder .

The ultimate racing game - you bet!

  • Excerpt: The N64 game Diddy Kong Racing is the first game that pops into my head when I think of games that I enjoyed as a youth. It's simplicity was a great introductory game to the console and it's cheerful characters, courses and graphics appealed to just about everyone. I recall that I lent a friend this game and in exchange borrowed Mario Karts, unfortunately he lost it (or so he claims!
  • Pros: Suitable for all ages, great fun, colourful
  • Cons: Not all that challenging

A great game, you'll be addicted

  • Excerpt: Wow, what can I say? I dug my N64 out of the cupboard a few weeks ago and decided to play this game, thinking it would just pass the time. I was soon addicted and playing daily! It's amazing to think you have a 1997 game that is still great today. The object of the game is to defeat WizPig, an evil tyrant who challenges you to a race. Well, here's my review! **** The Game Itself **** Pipsy,Bumper, Tiptup, Timber, Conker, Krunch, and Banjo are the 8 main drivers.
  • Pros: Fast paced, great graphics, nice music, takes a long time to finish
  • Cons: None really !

A RARE Treat

Rickoss, Ciao

  • Excerpt: This is where it all started; Banjo, Conker and other characters rumoured to have their own games. It wasn't for this we wouldn't have Banjo-Kazooie or Conker's BFD, two of the best and most sought after games to grace a cartridge on the N64. But before all of these games, did the source of great brilliance have brilliance of it's own?
  • Pros: Amazing Racing and Adventure Elements
  • Cons: No Apparant Faults

Diddy Rules

  • Excerpt: Your first thoughts of Diddy Kong Racing are probably that it's a silly cartoon racer. Well it kind of is, but the main difference is that there is an adventure mode and you can race as a car, hovercraft or plane with any character. It brings new depth to racing that was lacking in the Mario Kart series. Another brilliant thing about Diddy Kong Racing is the good effects, sounds and music.
  • Pros: A long lasting one player and a brilliant battle mode
  • Cons: Maybe too cutesy for some people

  • Excerpt: This has to be one of my all time favourite games for the N64 . It has levels for players of all abilities - easy track races for beginners and much harder levels to win trophies and new levels . And it's just plain cute . The kind of game where you can't stop playing even if you've played a million times before . Before you know it , you're humming the catch theme tunes and really annoying your friends .
  • Pros: Fab graphics , Good handling on most of the characters , Interesting
  • Cons: One or two of the characters hard to handle , Quite difficult at the end

One of the best games on the N64

  • Excerpt: Although this game is about three years old, it is still one of the best games I have played-and I have played a lot of games! I bought it when I first goy my Nintendo 64, which I recently sold for the money to get a PS2. Anyway, it was the first game I had on the N64 and it is definitely somewhere in my top 5 list of N64 games. In the game, there are 8 main characters, but you can unlock two other secret characters.
  • Pros: Multiplayer, adveture mode takes AGES to complete fully
  • Cons: None !

  • Excerpt: If there is one thing rare do best is keeping secrets. They managed to keep the best secret ever with this game aswell. A month before it was released, the first screenshots were released and all the magazines went mad. They published all the screenshots in November, the first ones ever to be seen yet Rare claimed the game would be released in time for Christmas, and it was.
  • Pros: Its by Rare, its amazing !
  • Cons: can it be surpassed?

A nice attempt by Rare

whoyerdad..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: This game is (was) a first for Rare in terms of entering into the racing market, and it was'nt a bad attempt either. However, the 'raging' issue over which is better, MarioKart, or DKR, well, I suppose itis a matter of opinion, but I feel that MK trumps DKR for the Multiplayer option, and the level of involvement, and the Nintendo label that MK gives you.
  • Pros: Nice Cartoony graphics, fresh feel
  • Cons: Somethings lacking, dont know what
