Good solution to a networking problem

IT Manager, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I needed to run a relatively-fast, wired connection the length of the shop, but the network infrastructure wasn't in place. The 600 Mb Wall-Plug GbE Powerline Adapter by ZyXEL allowed me to connect the nearest network port into the powerline and then to the new terminal at the other end.

  • Excerpt: We live in a rental house that has horrible internet connectivity. My husband, who is deployed for a year, had purchased one of these from a different company, I believe, and it helped somewhat. However, as time went on, we realized more were going to be necessary.

Very good but limited by the technology

  • Excerpt: I have had a pair of these for about a week. I bought them to provide more reliable networking for the AV gear on the far side of the house, to replace WiFi which has had dropouts. I found the distance to be too long for the Zyxels ... they connected reliably but speed was only about 15M.

Not bad

  • Summary: This is a interesting way to extend your internet throughout the house. Not as fast as what they advertise but still much better for me than the wireless set up I was running. I get the best performance by bridging my wireless connection with the wired from this adapter.

Adapters allow you to create a (reasonably) fast wired network without cutting holes in walls and ceilings

Michael M., Amazon
2 November 2013
  • Summary: I recently added a new ASUS router to our network, and needed it to play nicely with my existing Apple products. I wanted to create a whole-house network without running cables through walls, and after a great deal of research ended up with these Powerline adapters.

User Review

StNick2013, Walmart
5 September 2013
  • Summary: 600 Mbps - is "theorethical" speed. When initially was plugged in the outlets next to each other the speed was Tx=Rcv=~170Mbps (as reported by ZyXEL Config Utility). In real setup on different floors of 2-story single family home: Tx ~70 Mbps, Rcv ~100 Mbps.
