Summary: Had been running PC for years hard-wired to the router. Now wanted to move PC to a different room upstairs and the router downstairs along with the Ooma for more convenient checking of phone messages. A usb wifi adapter would make this possible. I chose the TrendNet because of the low price and lots of good reviews. The installation was a no-brainer. The actual hardware is smaller than my fingernail - hard to believe it could work at all. But work it does!
Summary: This item performs well. I bought it as a low cost solution to enable Wi-Fi on an old laptop that when new had a built in Wi-Fi which "crashed"! I use it a lot with Google ChromeCast and my Vizio TV. My laptop OS is Win 7 Home Premium. Recently downloaded IE 11 which speeded up switching web pages. This old CQ76 has now regained favor in my eyes over my Gateway Win 8.1 desktop (which my better half uses as a game machine).
Summary: This product worked from the moment I loaded it up and put it in. The adapter is tiny - but they actually have a full size computer disc that works well. So far, so good. I haven't lost any connectivity and since obviously I am online, it's still working good. I would recommend this product to anyone with a desktop computer who needs to go wireless. Oh, and it was cheap too.
Excerpt: Pretty useful and simple device. Plugs into the USB drive. I had to download drivers from the manufacturer's website as the drivers on the enclosed CD ROM were old. Remember if you use MAC address for timed access then the MAC address will change when you use a new USB adapter.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection
