Summary: Had this adapter sitting on the shelf for sometime. Then realized it was time to install it and the experience has been a bad one. I tried installing it through the Trendnet Utility and the Utility won't even my see my 5 ghz network.
Summary: I have an older quad-core hp desktop running vista. As a full time camphost/workamper most rv parks have "less than ideal" wifi. Within the past year we've been to three parks where my vista computer doesn't want to connect (but other people's newer computers will).
Excerpt: Plugged into a 10 year old desktop running Linux Mint 17 (Qiana) and it started right up. Signal strength is OK for my purposes (10-30 ft. from the wireless router) but probably not so good for distances.

Summary: It was so cheap I didn't bother returning it. I could see it being useful on a laptop that doesn't have a wifi adapter.

Summary: The Adapter worked great. This allowed me to connect a Desktop PC to our router that was located in another room without running cables. Also will work on Laptops that the onboard WIFI has sorted out. It can create a wireless internet connection on PC's that do not have WIFI connections.
