Summary: Bought two of these to create a simple 10GbE local network between my two Win8.1 64-bit PCs for some fast file transfers. Unfortunately these cards are very unstable, as the connection often breaks during a simple file transfer, and cards become unresponsive, causing at least one (usually both)...
Summary: Tired of a flaky wireless connection dropping at the worst moments. If you are looking for the reliability and performance of a hardwired solution at a reasonable cost, this is an easy answer. Add "ship to store" for free (I'll be there at least once a week anyway. . .
Summary: Bought this as replacement to an onboard NIC that failed in an older PC. Easy to install (PCI slot) and update the drivers with enclosed CD. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was the slow "Store to Store" performance of Walmart. StarTech product was 5 stars.
Summary: I was having a mysterious packet-loss issue with an online, cloud-based application. After hours of troubleshooting, I had a feeling replacing the integrated 10/100 nic with this one might solve the problem. Combined this with a Cat6, and now no packet-loss.
Pros: Price is right, bang for the buck, easy installation, and excellent performance.
