Summary: I was looking for an inexpensive adapter to use on another computer that I did not want to run another cable to through the wall. This worked perfectly... I had my 19 year old son install this and he said it went in and installed without a hitch, and it has worked nicely for the last month. It provides a button at the bottom of your tool bar which shows the link-up info (signal strength and speed) and allows you to do many things that I will never use.
Summary: I installed this low-cost wireless adapter on my computer about 1 week ago. It works great. Wireless router is about 30 ft away. I did not use the enclosed driver CD. I just let Vista download a driver automatically. No complaints.
Summary: I bought this for my new Windows 7 Desktop as the adaptor from my XP machine would hang app. Upon reciept, I looked it over well made, well packaged professional product. I read the instructions & there were no surprises. I spent more time clearing my desk to lay the tower over than on the install.
Summary: The PCI card went in and Windows XP SP3 had no problem picking it up. The CD setup was easy and the card picked up several wifi networks I didn't know were there. Yes, it did pick mine up as well and connecting was a breeze. Amazon's delivery was extremely fast and the items were packaged well. Thanks!
Summary: StarTech.com PCI 802.11g Wireless Network Adapter Card with Separate Antenna (PCI555WG)is excellent product with reasonable price. No problem installing on Windows 7 64-bit. Very good sustained wireless reception.
Summary: Installation takes about 2 minutes, but my computer would not recognize it. Spent the next hour trying to find the problem, but never did. I'm sure if I contact Amazon they will send me a shipping label and I can return it, but just don't want to fool with that. So ill be ordering another, from a different manufacturer.
