Excellent router from Netgear!

e-repair_guy, Ebay

  • Summary: Bought this router for DD-WRT Opensource firmware support. This is an excellent and highly capable router based on the broadcomm chipset and with 8MB flash memory with full capability to run custom OS. Love it. I wouldn't have it any other way.

  • Summary: i have been using this router for 3 days so far and i am very pleased with the performance. the set up process is very easy. All you have to do is to insert the cd in your laptop and it will walk you through the process in a very easy manner. signal strength has been consistent and i am pleased with the performance as there are multiple devices connected to wife in my house at the same time(smarttv, 2 smart phones, 3 laptops).

  • Summary: This unit works very well and I probably am not giving it enough credit, but I bought it used and I don't know about all of the capable features! I have no complaints other than my mobile phone comes unlinked every so often (not a big deal).

Very Satisfied with High-performance Wireless Router

absolutelythebestdeal, Ebay
31 August 2013
  • Summary: This Netgear router was easy to install and wirelessly networks a desktop, 2 laptops, and a printer. The most distant laptop is on another floor within our building and there seems to be no degradation of signal. We are extremely pleased with the router's speed, reliability, performance. Our company runs two businesses on the network and cannot tolerate downtimes.

Keeps dropping internet connection

M. Manjunath, Amazon
20 July 2013
  • Summary: It worked fine for about 4 months. Then it keeps dropping wireless internet connection almost once or twice every day. I have to reboot the router every time it happens. I regret buying this. There is no telephone customer service for Netgear. If I report a problem via internet, they will send me an email that contains all archaic information that does not help a bit.

Poor quality

Richard D. Beacham, Amazon
19 July 2013
  • Summary: At first this router worked great then it began giving us trouble. It would lose connection to the internet. We are a childcare center and as such we use a software that is required to be connected to the internet at all times to be connected to the server to interface as well as check in and out employees as well as children.(not really happy about this but it is what it is).

Works

  • Summary: Seems to me there are only two criteria for evaluating something like a router: does it work? And, is it easy to make it work? For this router: Yes and Yes.

  • Summary: I had a problem I'm a amazon prime member but was unable to watch movies. Had be back and fought between amazon and my internet provider. Both was saying that they weren't the problem. I had a old router by D-link (THEY HAVE NO CUSTMER SERVICE!!!!!!). Decided to upgrade my router to see if that was the problem. IT WAS. I can now watch anything on amazon prime.

Poor connection realiability

Jim S "Col.", Amazon
13 March 2013
  • Summary: I purchased this router to replace my "old" Linksys WRT54G router as I had added several more IP cameras and wanted the added bandwidth. But after using this router for several weeks, and updating the fireware I have to report this router is nothing short of junk! I was not able to access my cameras, or if they did link up, they would not refresh, therefore I would not be able to see current images.
