Excerpt: Using this adapter on an HP Envy desktop PC in a lousy WiFi environment (apartment complex with 15 APs within close proximity). The built-in WiFi adapter in the Envy is a piece of junk (Ralink), so bought the Netgear N150 (WNA100M) from RadioShack to get this desktop on the internet reliably.

Install is straight forward.

Unfortunately, the adapter is not reliable with 802.11n in this environment.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Secure Connection, Windows8
Excerpt: Netgear has worked every time and I have no problem connecting to the internet. I use the internet for e-mails and important information to contact people. I am in the process of looking for a job closer to home and I have to put my resume online. I have responded to 2 jobs already. I also have to contact the builders of my house if I have a problem.
Excerpt: Works great out of the box. There was no issue with Raspbian which is a version of Debian Linux for the Pi. Took this out of the box plugged it into the Pi and just booted up. Went into the setup on the PI and configured it under the os. It attached right to my WRT router. I then configured it to attach to my Galaxy Nexus wifi hotspot and no issues there. Then I took it to work and configured it to work on the cisco network there.
Excerpt: I bought one of these. Followed instructions. Software included never finished installing. De-installed and downloaded newer version from the web. This software installed, but it did not recognize the device when I was asked to insert it. Device manager did not show device as inserted (installed or otherwise). I returned this and bought next higher model - which installed and runs great with high signal strength from 100 feet with multiple walls and devices in the path.
Excerpt: The NETGEAR G54/N150 WiFi USB Micro Adapter WNA1000M by Netgear worked just fine on my really old home built desktop computer. I was really concerned that the computer was running Microsoft XP which had just been taken off the support listing. I was attempting to hook up to my home network to upgrade to Windows 7 or some other program that would be supported bt Microsoft for a while. The USB Micro Adapter did connect to my networl albet slowly.
Excerpt: I purchased this for my parents desktop when they moved into an independent living apartment. Dad is 91 and check email and facebook daily for grandkids activities and messages. The CD installation was simple and easy and took less than 10 minutes to complete. Starts up ever time and works great.
