Pros: Solves a problem that exists in a big house where the primary router is not centrally located.
Cons: It doesn''t expand the primary network, it adds a second network, which isn''t bad for a stationary node, but for mobile devices that move around the space, it is awkward having to change networks.
Summary: was refurbished and sold cheap on e-bay... but provided all that was expected to provide and a little bit beyond... like the bonus USB port for my 1TB external backup HDD i wanted to plug in somewhere permanently. they say this sweet combo adsl-modem/wireless-router might start to run hot and to fail in a year or two but what electronic devise doesn't anyway... came with easy to handle software, also comes with all cables, bells and whistles...
Summary: I am a home office Regional Sales Manager. When my company gave me an updated Dell PC, my D-Link wireless router just was not strong enough to establish a healthy usable link. I did a fair amount of web research and chose the Netgear unit because of it's compact size, plug-in utility and promise of universal communication. It delivered on all of those. As others have noted the documentation was rather sparse.
Pros: Compact size, Easy To Set Up, Fast, Fast Connection Speed
Summary: as you all know it is on 24/7. It was very easy to put into service, the whole business registration and all took about 15 minutes. It does run rather warm, so good air flow is recommended. So far the only thing I don't like is, there are several symbols on the front and I was unable to find anything to tell what they are. As the one that looks like a ball with headphones on turns red once in a while.
Good for the money but im sure there is a better product out there...

Summary: This was a refurb so the price was good. Works well was fairlly simple to setup. my only complaint is that if i have alot of connections going it will drop some connections untill i restart the unit. other then that works great and is much faster then my old g router...
Summary: I bought this because my daughter is a college student and studies in her basement bedroom, which is on the apposite side of the house from the main wireless router, and only received an intermittent signal. The device solved the problem nicely, once I figured out how to set it up, which wasn't terribly intuitive. I've had it about a month and it has needed to be reset once so far - not difficult. Overall, it was a good buy.
Summary: The extender was not as easy to set up as advertised, depending on your particular router and network. The device, itself, works quite well when especially considering the hardware. Buy.com was extremely fluid and transparent with the sale transactional process and didn't cause any consternation, shipping was a breeze.
