  • Summary: This was my solution after several frustrating attempts to diagnose my ATT modem. This modem was very easy to set up. The connection genie made everything go smoothly. The only drawback I can find is that the wireless signal is not as strong as the ATT modem I replaced.

  • Summary: I'm not too crazy about it. The units drops signal then reconnects over and over. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. Mid Netflix freeze....wait...it comes back. Tried rebooting and all troubleshooting steps, no love. All my devices get pretty good signal in my back bedroom but I got a range extender just for the iPad Netflix. So far it's a bust.

  • Summary: Refurbished range extender arrived with the antenna broken. I can't evaluate how it would work since I had to take it back. I will be looking for another new one.

  • Summary: The NETGEAR Universal WiFi Range Extender is a great product when it is doing its job. The problem is that two or three times a day it will drop the signal and will have to be rebooted. Most of the time this happens when the signal is not being used but sometimes even when there is a movie going through chromecast it will drop it. At this point I feel like biting the bullet and going with a wired set up is the solution.

  • Summary: As a former cable internet user, I had to switch to DSL because of lack of affordable cable internet service my specific geographical area. Bought this product since it was a combo modem/router. Worked reasonably well with a LAN ethernet connection but was a total loser when being used via my wireless. Only had an effective wifi range of around 10 ft. Anything more than that and the speed dropped from 10 mbps to less than 1 mbps.

  • Excerpt: Looked easy to setup but then it virtually does not work at all. When you try to get on website to change settings for netgear, it does not exist!
  • Cons: Difficult To Set Up, Slow Connection Speed, Unreliable connection

  • Summary: Refurbished unit. Required download of Setup and User Guides. Setup worked well. Unit losses connection to WiFi Router at least once a day. My laptop and tablet appear to have a good connection but can't get to the internet. Turn the Netgear range extender off then on, it reestablishes connection to my main WiFi Router and all is well again until it is not. Then do it again. I may try to see if a new firmware is available.

  • Summary: No instructions or software came with this router other than to go to Netgear website. Drivers on Netgear web site disable our entire wifi system ( all netgear routers) and fail to connect this router to network. Pretty much a nightmare for us.
