Summary: Very disappointed. The unit arrived "scrambled". Factory reset made no difference. A dishonest man would try and resell it (like the vendor in this case). But I'm throwing this in the bin where it belongs...
Summary: Ordered one of these routers to replace an older Netgear router which had developed a fault after several years good service. The first unit was fine apart from a problem setting a password on the Guest account. Contacted Netgear Support who suggested re-flashing the firmware which didn't solve the problem. After 4 days the unit simply stopped working and did not respond to switching on and off or numerous resets.
Summary: Bought this in Currys when it was on offer, now I can see why. After 7 years of using my old Netgear DG834GT (54g) router, I upgraded my computers recently and wanted to take advantage of the N speeds of newer routers, so having had great reliability with my old Netgear I decided to stick with the brand.
Summary: I wanted to replace a fully functional but ageing Netgear DG834 with a newer unit, supposedly faster and with a USB port for shared storage. I bought from In2Digital, new name to me, supplied promptly. I connected using Ethernet to my Apple MacBook Pro. I had problems setting the unit up using the Wizard - it kept locking up. I then accessed the interface directly and was able to set it up manually.
Summary: Bought this a a replacement for an ageing dg834 which was becoming slow and unreliable. Bought netgear in the past and hoped for more of the same. Worked well for a few months then could not connect to ISP. It had auto detected connection and came back with a strange setting for adsl of pppoe. I double checked and put back to pppoa and vcmux. I checked for a firmware ugrade, which is very elusive to find which model you actually have.
Summary: I do not know how well this product works, but the package contains an ADSL filter that does not fit the UK system. I am now in touch with Happiness At Home Ltd to see what they will do about it.
Summary: This was NOT easy to set up for us. Having tried to install it via the cd that came with it, a computer designer friend, whom we had to pay, got nowhere. In the end we got the Geek Squad who also appeared to run into problems but were able to eventually install it manually. This was extra cost for us adding to an already expensive router. Our old Netgear had been playing up for some time, having served us well for over 6 years.
Summary: I ordered 3 of these and have used netgear for the last 5-6 years and have always found them easy to work. 2 of these 3 I could not get to work even after speaking to Netgear support of which the phone number is hard to find 0844 875 4000. The pppoA connection at two different locations were with the wizard recognised as pppOE which is not correct , when I then put all the necessary setting is manually the router simply wouldn't connect to the isp.
Excerpt: Wireless signal constantly dropping out, modem freezes up atleast once a fortnight when all ports are in use. Please note this is NOT a gigabit router it is only capable of up to 300mbs wireless signal and 10/100 LAN
