Summary: Bought to replace DG834N. It improves line speed and signal strength by 10% over old modem/router. But old Rangemax USB adapters only connect at 144Mbs (up to 270Mbs with DG834N). It appears to support IPv6 to some degree. Lots of bad feedback on forums about USB Readyshare, so I have turned it off. Physically about 2/3rds size of DG834N, runs warm. Screw holes on case permit wall mounting.
Summary: I bought mine from Curry's, but I used the Amazon reviews to choose which router to buy, so only fair I put a review on here: I'd had problems with my last two routers from Talk Talk and then from Plusnet. Both dropped my ADSL connection periodically and both dropped wireless clients on a daily basis. So finally I decided to get my wallet out and choose a better router.
Summary: This good looking wireless modem router was very easy to install and set up using the excellent Netgear Genie. The interface is intuitive and easy to modify. Wireless performance was good and reliable. Unfortunately the Internet kept dropping out several times a day requiring a reboot.
Summary: Had a 2200v3 for 16 months with no particular problems. This was a replacement for an older Netgear. The 2200 didn't have the greatest wireless signal but it did the job. Then it suddenly started dropping 30+ times a day so I took back as it was under the 2 year warranty for exchange for another one, this time it was a 2200v4. This was better but if there was a drop it would not reconnect so I took this one back for a refund.
Summary: Very disappointed. The unit arrived "scrambled". Factory reset made no difference. A dishonest man would try and resell it (like the vendor in this case). But I'm throwing this in the bin where it belongs...
Summary: Ordered one of these routers to replace an older Netgear router which had developed a fault after several years good service. The first unit was fine apart from a problem setting a password on the Guest account. Contacted Netgear Support who suggested re-flashing the firmware which didn't solve the problem. After 4 days the unit simply stopped working and did not respond to switching on and off or numerous resets.
Summary: It was easy to connect and set up. I had to get an IT friend to jiggle the software connections but, once that was done, it has worked faultlessly. It also has a better range than my previous Netgear router - it can be used anywhere in my quite rambling house.
