  • Pros: Awesome fast. We did a transfer between 2 servers sith 10G and got over 600MB / sec.
  • Cons: Expensive. Has a cooling fan on the card so that could eventually be a point of failure.

Skip this one, go for the X540-T2

krc, Amazon

  • Summary: The 520-T2 consists of separate PHY and MAC chips, which require active cooling. The 520 is the precursor to the 540-T2, which integrates both functions on a single chip and only uses passive cooling. The result is the 540 costs less and consumes less power.

IT guy, Amazon

  • Summary: This card can be problematic to install, as intel have had problems with the drivers for this. If of course you are installing this type of hardware you're probably capable of sorting out such niggles rather than complaining it does work properly for certain configurations out of the box.
