Summary: I always by intel for compatibility reasons and this one works well with vmware esxi so 4 stars, the only negative is its a bit pricey but I guess you slap a SERVER label on anything and automatically get charged double.
Summary: WOW! Blows my Mobo's on board NIC out of the water. Got this for my Debian Xen home server. Initially used the two NICs for redundancy/fail-over but now I'm using both simultaneously to split the network load of the VMs. Works flawlessly in either configuration. No drivers needed; Jessie/Xen picked both NICs up right away.
Summary: I got this going in my PFSense box. Its my only access to the world, in and out. Its been working full time since I got it. Not sure when I bought it, cant see it on this review page, but its been Streaming Netflix In, and twitch Out almost daily since I plugged it in. It hasnt givent given me issues once.
Summary: This card WILL NOT fit in a 32-bit or 64-bit, 5V PCI slot. This card does not have the slot cut for the 5V PCI key. This card should fit in a 32-bit or 64-bit, 3.3V PCI slot but I have not tried yet. The card is fine but I am giving only three stars because I can not use it in a 5V PCI slot. The PRO/1000 MT PCI/PCI-X Dual Port Server Adapter does have the slot cut for the 5V PCI key.
Summary: It was plug and play with ESXi 5.5 and for the last 3 months or so has worked flawlessly exactly the way I expected it to do so. In fact I have been thinking about getting another to play around with the network capabilities.
Summary: This item is the worst. No drivers and it doesn't start working on start up. It takes searching for drivers deleting exhausting Intel drivers. Can you get it to work yes but you have to shut bios security security CSM And disk security off just to get it to work in Win 7 and in Win 8.1 it is a luck of the draw.
Summary: Ordered 2 at the same time: NIC 1 - installed on a OpenSUSE box (ASUS P5Q3 mobo) and it kills the PCIe. The computer doesn't POST due to no video card (since it is a PCIe card and the NIC locks the bus). Moved it to another OpenSUSE box (ASUS F2A85-M Pro) running FreeNAS under KVM. The PC boots but only 1 adapter is reported. Moved around the devices, removed all - still NG. Removed and returned to seller (seller provided return label).
