  • Summary: Works great with Apple Macbook Pro. Nice back up for no/bad wireless and much cheaper than firewire ethernet adapter.

Great for Chromebooks

Amazon Customer "photographer, motorcyclist and traveler", Amazon

  • Summary: This works very well with Chromebooks. I purchased it because I use my Acer Chromebook for some network and systems administration tasks and often wifi isn't available for the networks I need. There was zero setup, I plugged it in and then it was in my network connection list. Easy-peasy! Small, light, and functional. Just what I like in my electronics.

Works like a charm

DAVID B., Newegg
19 November 2014
  • Summary: I just purchased a second unit to keep with my Surface 2 Pro. The first was for my Lenovo Yoga. It comes in handy when I need direct connectivity for configuring routers, firewalls, and other tech devices that don't lend themselves to wireless configuration or connectivity.
  • Pros: Small, inexpensive, automatically sensed and set up by both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
  • Cons: None

  • Pros: Needed an extra ethernet port on the little atom board I'm using as a linux router, this device works great. Using Debian - Jessie (currently testing) and works without any issues. A note about Edimax, I've used their little usb wireless nubs and they seem to work great as well. Good quality and low price.

Not good with Chromebook

Keith Perkins, Amazon
8 July 2014
  • Summary: I purchased a HP Chromebook. I had read that this adapter should work with the Chromebook. It did not. The adapter came with a CD with drivers, but Chromebooks are not able to add drivers.

works on OS X (with new driver)

Douglas E., Newegg
21 June 2014
  • Pros: Works on new MacBook Air running OS X 10.9.2. Bandwidth seems fine. Great price.
  • Cons: Needed to download latest driver from the Edimax website because the driver on enclosed CD didn't work.
