Summary: It works and it works well. Probably one of the priciest powerline kits I've seen but I think you're paying for what you get. The quality is good, the speed is better than I'd hoped for in my old house with its old wiring (pushing 100 Mb/s in places). The ability to spin up a guest network is handy. I have four of these spead over the three floors of my house and having more than the minimum two units definitely added stability and upped average transfer rates.
Excerpt: This is a very robust solution, and additional plugs can be easily to added to an existing network for those homes who's construction may limit the signal quality. Easy-to-follow-instructions with a no quibble warranty in the unlikely event you experience severe problem. Power outage has not proven a problem and the devolo cockpit provides a user-friendly interface to edit a range of settings. Have installed in family homes too!
Excerpt: Virginmedia superhub 2 was not reaching all rooms satisfactorily. Devolo has givem me the coverage I need. Easy to set up - just follow the diagramatic installation leaflet in the package and don't get confused with the CD unless you want something more complex than basic wifi extension
Excerpt: Having already got a Devolo network in my house, I just needed another adapter for a different room. Buy it, plug it in, enter the security number into the Devolo Cockpit software, and that it, it works perfectly. Even starting the network off from scratch, something I did a while ago now, was easy. Cannot recommend these enough.
Excerpt: I got this having read that networks through the house wiring could be better than range extenders and it works well in an old Victorian house. I connected the unit to my BT home hub with an ethernet cable, plugged a Mac into the other ethernet port, downloaded and ran the software, and easily configured the wifi router to be part of my existing network. Very easy. One warning: don't put the tiny CD-ROM into the disk drive on a Mac.
Excerpt: After doing the research online, this was the best rated one and Argos was the cheapest place to buy it perfect for large houses where the wifi signal is weak. Easy to set up if you just want the basic setting, with more configurable settings if you want a common SSID. Have already recommended.
Summary: I bought these as I was recently upgraded by Virgin Media to the Superhub 2 which has a less powerful 2.4 Ghz range. This new hub sends in 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz but with my PC being upstairs above the Superhub, my PC dongle was not picking up the signal. Now I have one of these Devolo's plugged in downstairs next to my Superhub and the transmitter is in a bedroom about 15 feet away.
Pros: Plays Tvgams Consel B, Just Plug And Play, Qick Set Up, None
