Do not buy, use Dixie cups and string for better results

Summary: DO NOT BUY...... Dlink was at one point the go to company, no more. They are making junk and not standing behind their products. This is the latest and last product from them that I will ever buy. The unit is brilliantly marketed too bad the money is all in the marketing and not in the technology. You would have better luck with string and Dixie cups connecting to any network.
Summary: Trash- Has never worked. Searchs for router and will lock for short period of time then drop on/off. Does it at work and at home so I know its not my router/computer.(tried on friends computer(diff brand and model) same result. Throwing in trash today.

Summary: Very fast even though it's just AC600. I bought these as spares as i didn't know if i'd need to expand my AC network. I was using all Edimax products which seemed to work great at first, then i would eventually get connection and reliability issues and i wasn't sure why. No errors reported from edimax, always said connected at some really good speed like 585Mbps.
I have two story house and signal isn't so great with older N draft
17 October 2014
Summary: I am not sure what everyone is complaining about this. I'm using DLINK AC1900 DIR880L with this adapter to take advantage of the signal and faster speed transferring data between my laptop and NAS. I have two story house and signal isn't so great with older N draft. See snap shot.
Excerpt: Well set up was quick and easy but performance was only marginal. Don't get me wrong, it works fine and in my case that was a blessing. It is however rather slow and if you're trying to download something...well forget it....still for reading e-mail and typing (like this review) it works fine. If I were to buy another, I would pay a few more bucks and go for a upgrade. Still beats the cost of a new desk top!
Worked like a charm with my desktop rig on Windows 8
11 August 2014
Summary: Worked like a charm with my desktop rig on Windows 8.1 pro. I couldn't ask more at this point from the adapter but you need to download the drivers first from another source from the sort website, especially since I have no CD drive. This is my third day using it and I have had no random drops or signal problems that I frequently experienced with the linksys and net gear models.
