Difficult

John A., Newegg
13 July 2015
  • Summary: We were planning to use this inside one of our products as a replacement for an obsolete part, I am not going to give this two our customers. I've have ten of these I am scrapping.
  • Pros: it is inexpensive, and it is about the same size as the one I was replacing.
  • Cons: I could not get this to work at all on vista, I could not get it to work properly on XP, and it did not work properly on two MACs running windows 7. I did get it to run on a PC running Windows 7 after down loading the drivers, but some of the network software we use did not function properly with...

Awesomely reliable usb NICs

Cory D. Hamma, Amazon
17 January 2015
  • Summary: We use these at work to diagnose ethernet issues on PCs. We use softphones, which are really picky about the network connection. Sometimes, the on-board NIC goes bad, and this is an indispensable tool to determine whether it is the switch, PC, or NIC. Windows 7 has built-in drivers.

6 January 2015
  • Summary: Make note of the OSX shortcomings so you don't get caught.
  • Pros: Worked well on windows machines, great utility.
  • Cons: Revision B of this product is not compatible with OSX over 10.6 for some odd reason, and I was hoping to use this on a 10.8 macbook air.

NOT plug-and-play

CF-JM, Amazon
14 March 2014
  • Summary: The reason I chose this product was the claim that it was plug-and-play. It requires a driver installation from a disc. Inconvenient for moving between computers.

Connected again

Seth R., Newegg
29 October 2013
  • Pros: Got a XP machine where the motherboard ethernet chip just died back on the net. It did what it was supposed to do.
  • Cons: XP had to have the driver loaded from CD (since obviously it had no network connection!!), but fortunately that is the one machine which still has a working CD drive in it.
