Summary: I own an Synology Diskstation NAS (Network-Attached Storage) box where I keep all my music and movies, and this model of Wi-Fi adapter is one of a handful that are compatible with that device. Basically, you plug this adapter into the back of the NAS and -- voila! -- your NAS is suddenly wireless.
Summary: This W-LAN USB adaptor is compatible to the Synology DS series. But be aware that you cannot really configure it. But the plug and play worked for me. Two nice goodies - one, there is an USB extension copacked that is very stiff, so you can have the adaptor sitting upright. Second, the antenna is adjustable, so you can find a better signal.
Summary: Adapter is large and 2x2 usb takes up space of 3. I guess if I needed to, it include stiff usb cable so that can be slightly messy but could be used. I purchased refurbished since I did not needed but so cheap so minds well ship it with cable modem router I purchased. Installation: There were no instruction nor software. I had to go to manufacture's website. What need to be downloaded are 300mb zip file.
Summary: Plugged in and nothing, searched the company website, downloaded the software, still no luck getting my computer, windows 8.1 Lenovo only a month old, to recognize the adapter. Not worth the hassle to return. Oh well I believe I will stay away from refurbished products.
Summary: This wireless adapter has significantly increased the speed of my connection for my main desktop. Setup took 10 minutes and has worked like a charm since. The Buffalo drivers offer some customizations if you are into that thing, but I went with the default settings and couldn't be happier. My only complaint is that the adapter is pretty wide and makes the USB port next to it useless.
