Great, though outdated

Anonymous, Newegg
31 December 2007
  • Summary: If your laptop still has PCMICA and you need a wireless card that can really come through, then look no farther than this card.
  • Pros: I got this to use on my laptop up at university and the range is amazing, i was getting 4 or 5 bars on networks that i only got 1 bar on vs internal, plus i was able to connect to networks i didnt know were there before.
  • Cons: Dated...PCMICA whereas most all new laptops are ExpreessCard, a non compatible, faster interface.

Good PCMCIA card

Advanced S., Newegg
26 October 2007
  • Pros: Good range and easy to install. When using with a BUFFALO router, you can get throughput of 125 Mbps!!
  • Cons: Not as powerful as I would have thought. The BUFFALO routers are so great that I thought this card would be as good. My son has a DELL card and it picks up better than this one.

  • Cons: Plastic feels fragile (compared with Cisco cards I've been using)

  • Summary: Great product, wide compatiblity with a lot of OS's and is quite affordable.
  • Pros: works under WIN98 (was very surprised), strong signal, little loss of transmission. Great price.
  • Cons: none, Only got a couple issues while installing but I think it was because of Windows 98.

Corporate Espionage Action!

Casey C., Newegg
9 September 2007
  • Summary: Check buffalo's site for potentially updated drivers (I didn't check the included disc, I never use the included discs...). I wonder if the negs given to buffalo products come from the competition!
  • Pros: Read the leagues of other reviews...
  • Cons: It is bulky, but it works solid.

Great card

Corey K., Newegg
14 August 2007
  • Summary: My experience with the BUFFALO brand name has been good so far. Hope it stays that way because it sounds like thier customer service blows. Thats a bummer.
  • Pros: Quick and easy install. AOSS worked flawless. Full signal strength and great range.
  • Cons: A little bulky, but worth it.

My worst expectations

THOMAS F., Newegg
9 August 2007
  • Summary: I thought I researched this purchase well, but this card and the company support are horrible! This is the first BAD review I have written!
  • Pros: I don't have any other than the fact that i can return it.
  • Cons: does not install per quick install booklet. Installed almost by itself. Will not connect to router. Buffalotech.com website is unreachable as is there "customer support". No wonder it is free, you cannot talk to anyone. Called at Midnight central time, 30 minutes waiting, still no one to talk to.

Antenna Port is cool!

Cynthia M., Newegg
3 August 2007
  • Summary: I really recommend this product, it was soo easy and fast to install and is easy to use and great for wardriving!
  • Pros: I saw at least a 30 percent increase in signal strength in the same area, then with my other wireless G card, it has an antenna port which is great if u want to get a directional antenna like the canantenna and get even further away from your router
  • Cons: the Card does stick out a bit, but considering it gets a better siginal its worth it, just make sure to take it out before u put it in a bag!
