Summary: I was having connectivity issues with this until I stopped using the USB-N53 Utility. Could not stay connected to 2.4GHz or 5GHz network and software errors when more than one user is logged in. Switched to the built-in Windows wireless manager and have had no issues since. Great product. If the utility software worked I would have given 5 stars.
Pros: Very fast. Easy installation.
Cons: Huge. The USB-N53 Utility software leaves something to be desired.
Summary: I won this device at a raffle and it has surprised me greatly on well it works for a wifi device internal antennas.
Pros: This device uses both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bandwidths. It also comes with a cool usb cable that allows it to be plugged into a port without covering up it's neighboring port and has some sort of stiff wire that allows you to point or position it in the air.
Cons: Microsoft update will attempt to have you use a driver that will only run it in 2.4ghz mode. You have to manually go download the most current version from Asus.
Summary: seems to work well but I use it mostly for the 2.4Ghz band, so not sure how well it works in 5Ghz band. The dongle is very big and the end cap doens't mount on the other end like many similar dongle.
Summary: I have tried many usb network adapaters and pci network cards. I must say that this one is faster and reliable than some pci networks cards I tried. Though it is not as fast as I expected, it still provides me a very nice ping for gaming and doing any network related activities. Design wise - I don't think any can really make the looks any better than this one.
Summary: I got this in and plugged it into my win7 x64 rig and there were no drivers to be found. I shot over to the ASUS website and the download support page only lists "Win XP, Vista 32bit" and "Windows 7 32bit" as support options. I download the 32bit win7 drivers and there is a driver in the "x64" folder. But windows says this driver will not work because the driver is not meant for this build or platform.
Pros: Fast. Works as advertised. Good value. Paired with an RT-56 for maximum compatibility and performance.
Cons: Very poor driver support so far. I understand it's a new product but driver support should be a priority, ESPECIALLY for a top-of-the-line networking product. Serious fail.
Summary: Easy to set up. Stronger signal, faster and more versatile than previous (ancient) dongle. Reasonable software. Only peculiar thing is that it causes Windows to register it under the 'safely remove hardware and eject media' task tray thingy. Not really a problem though.
Summary: Delivered on time. I bought two types of dongle previously but didn't works well due to my router's quite far distance from my PC but this model connecting fast and works well to me. really satisfied.
