Works good if your house does not have a lot of walls.

Summary: I bought this usb wireless adapter to get a better signal from our kitchen on my wife's Toshiba Satellite with a Realtek RTL8191se wireless card, plus I've always had good experiences with Asus products. This N53 worked great (approx 144 Mbps on 2.4Ghz 802.11n and 300 Mbps on 5Ghz 802.11a at around 75 ft from the router) as long as the laptop was in a straight line of sight from my office door (where my Asus AC66 router is), but unfortunately as soon as I go into the...

Summary: These Asus networking products are robust and full of features. I own a RT-N66U router and this N53 usb network card, both are far superior compared to products I previously owned from DLink, TrendNet and Linksys(Cisco). Just be aware that right now I am crippled by my own upgrade to Windows 8.1 because the N53 can't see the 5GHz network, already looked for newer drivers in Asus website, updated the router firmware, uninstalled and reinstalled the card, all to no avail.
Summary: I Bought this to allow my desktop to have wireless capability. PROS: -Looks great. -Includes flexible USB dongle to position it to receive best signal. -5 GHZ support CONS: -Difficult setup with windows 8* -For the money I paid for it, connection isn't what I expected. averages about 300 mb/s but after a range of 10-15 ft it drops off sharply. *Help with Windows 8: This was repeated on another review on here.
Summary: I was having connectivity issues with this until I stopped using the USB-N53 Utility. Could not stay connected to 2.4GHz or 5GHz network and software errors when more than one user is logged in. Switched to the built-in Windows wireless manager and have had no issues since. Great product. If the utility software worked I would have given 5 stars.
Pros: Very fast. Easy installation.
Cons: Huge. The USB-N53 Utility software leaves something to be desired.
Summary: seems to work well but I use it mostly for the 2.4Ghz band, so not sure how well it works in 5Ghz band. The dongle is very big and the end cap doens't mount on the other end like many similar dongle.
Summary: Bought this ASUS N-53 USB Dual-Band WiFi adapter because the internal Airport WiFi in my 4 year old MacBook Pro was becoming erratic at both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz links and constantly lost the signal. So much for Apple's famous quality! The engineering on this ASUS USB Dual-Band adapter was very well thought out. It is large, which means it has plenty of power, cools better and allows a large size internal antenna for excellent reception.
Summary: I have tried many usb network adapaters and pci network cards. I must say that this one is faster and reliable than some pci networks cards I tried. Though it is not as fast as I expected, it still provides me a very nice ping for gaming and doing any network related activities. Design wise - I don't think any can really make the looks any better than this one.
