Very good product, but died on me after a month

glenn sagum, Amazon
15 October 2014
  • Summary: Its fast! i liked the accompanying software as well as well as the short bendable but rigid USB extender that came along with it. useful for raising or bending it in a way especially if you're using a laptop. It also connects fast upon booting.. and the flashing LED lights tell you right away. Transferring of files is fast as compared to just the normal built-in wifi adapter on your laptop.

ASUS Drops the Ball (Hey - it's football season)

P J Penrose, Amazon
6 October 2014
  • Summary: As this is a product review, it will include the quality of customer service: I bought this to connect to my 5.0Ghz signal through my Windows 8.1 desktop. And yes, I downloaded the latest drivers from the ASUS site. While the unit picked up my 2.4 signal, it picked up no 5.0 signals. I know my router is putting out the 5.0Ghz as other equipment is connected to it.

Rod S Johnson, Amazon

  • Summary: I found the product a disappointment not because it doesn't work but because of the rebate process. I thought after filling out a bunch of data online my rebate would be processed but no. After a few weeks I get an e-mail that my rebate is not being processed because I have not mailed in my UPC. If it takes twice the work of a regular rebate what is the purpose.

Found our 5G signal instantly!

MiraclesMan "Mark", Amazon

  • Summary: I am forced to use Century Link as my provider. For many of you I shouldn't have to say more but their best router is a POS at best. I did hook it up to an ASUS router with amazing results and now it sends 5g and 2.4 g signals throughout the house. Recently a guest of ours couldn't pick up the 5g signal so we bought this one to see if it could work. It was a dream. The instant his computer installed the hardware, the 5g signal appeared.

Killer deal on a great USB Adapter

P. Fey, Amazon
15 September 2014
  • Summary: One of the better USB adapters i've used. As a graduate of a certain big box stores computer geek department I have tried many, many USB sticks. This one definitely stands at the top. The installation is as easy as any USB stick. If you are looking to add 300Mbps WiFi capability to a Laptop or a Desktop that doesn't have an open PCI slot, this is the way to go. The reception for me has been excellent in some very challenging environment.

horrible drivers which makes this useless

I love buying stuff, Amazon
10 September 2014
  • Summary: asus.. cmon now. I've been a faithful customer for years but recently I have been let down when it comes to networking. First, i paid more for asus and this antenna came with really bad drivers/software. good luck finding the 5ghz band with the asus drivers. doesn't even matter if you use netgear or asus routers. it will only pick up on 2.4ghz bands (meaning this is a single band antenna) that's why you bought this antenna right? NO!

Worked well for my Intel, Dell and HP Servers!

RTPMason, Amazon
25 August 2014
  • Summary: Worked very well to make my servers run on the home wireless netowrk until the cable coube be run to ne new office. I was suprised at how well these worked! I wanted something to use when transitioning my office from one location to another. Just to keep them connected until the full wiring could be in place. I had a few options, but using these, I could re-purpose them MUCH easier after they weren't needed on the servers any more.

It works much better than the PCI-e cards I have used

Marc Pisarek, Amazon
1 August 2014
  • Summary: After going through two consecutive frustrating experiences with inconsistent and improperly working PCI-e wireless cards for my desktop computer, I decided to give this USB Wifi device a chance. It works much better than the PCI-e cards I have used, which came as a surprise and seemed counter-intuitive as I had read internal cards give better performance. I would recommend this device. For reference, I am using Windows 7 Home 64-bit.

  • Summary: Love this for my laptop. With some 24Hz interference this boosts the signal pass the interference insuring an excellent signal that almost never gets dropped. Well worth the money even if I'm asked why the microphone looks like that? LOL Or if it's a network shield. It's funny to hear what people think it is, even when I wish they won't disturb me.
  • Pros: Small light with great range.
  • Cons: Everyone that sees it questions what it is.
