Does the Job

Jason m., Newegg

  • Summary: I got this for a PC I didn't want to run a line too. Works great connected to my Netgear Nighthawk.
  • Pros: Works as intended and lived up to my expectations.
  • Cons: Setup didn't quite go without a hitch, but I got it to work with a little extra effort.

  • Summary: Everything is good as mentioned in other reviews here. One thing to note, I'm using Window 7 64-bit system, but the drivers on CD or Asus web cannot get it working; I can see adapter in system as a grey icon but cannot truly Enable it. I ended up manually installing WindowXP 64-bit driver from the CD to get the adapeter working. Painful experience.
  • Pros: Range, price, signal strength
  • Cons: Driver support

  • Summary: by far the best wifi adapter I bought. I'm using 50Mbps plan from ISP and it gives me 48Mbps while other adapters gives only 10~20Mbps. Very satisfied.
  • Pros: Easy installation, fast speed
  • Cons: a little bulky but doesn't bother me too much

  • Summary: I was having connectivity issues with this until I stopped using the USB-N53 Utility. Could not stay connected to 2.4GHz or 5GHz network and software errors when more than one user is logged in. Switched to the built-in Windows wireless manager and have had no issues since. Great product. If the utility software worked I would have given 5 stars.
  • Pros: Very fast. Easy installation.
  • Cons: Huge. The USB-N53 Utility software leaves something to be desired.

  • Summary: Prior to buying this wireless USB I purchased the ASUS S400CA ultrabook. The ultrabook has been fantastic except for the new 'green' Atheros on-board wireless card put into many new notebooks due to its small power footprint. Unfortunately the network cards range quite poor and there are multiple driver/compatibility issues with Windows 8. I purchased the USB-N53 to increase the poor range and reception I'm getting with the on-board card.
  • Pros: Great range, Great replacement for an underpowered wireless card in a laptop/notebook, Works beautifully with Asus RT-N65U
  • Cons: the unit isn't huge but it's not tiny either.

  • Summary: I bought 2 of these to use in a PC tower and a laptop, these USB dual band WiFi sticks are just great. I have had NO problems so far. My router is a D-link Dir-825 Dual band 2.4/5ghz, and I have seen a HUGE jusp in speed over regular 2.4 useage. I recommend this product bigtime.
  • Pros: Easy to use, Easy to install, Easy to configure
  • Cons: None so far

  • Summary: Easy to install (run the CD, choose the utility), plug it in, enter your SSID and password and your up and running. The utility is easy to understand and navigate. Try not to twist the extender adapter to much, it will break to wires internal! Not much more to say, except that it is great!

Over a year of use

Steadman S., Newegg

  • Summary: I won this device at a raffle and it has surprised me greatly on well it works for a wifi device internal antennas.
  • Pros: This device uses both 2.4ghz and 5ghz bandwidths. It also comes with a cool usb cable that allows it to be plugged into a port without covering up it's neighboring port and has some sort of stiff wire that allows you to point or position it in the air.
  • Cons: Microsoft update will attempt to have you use a driver that will only run it in 2.4ghz mode. You have to manually go download the most current version from Asus.
