Summary: I made the mistake of buying the Cable Matters® USB 2.0 to 10/100 Fast Ethernet Network Adapter in Black before spending the extra money for a genuine Apple product. This works on an old, black MacBook Core Duo running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Summary: Simple, solid, reliable. Classic Apple. Have not had any problems using this adapter. I've been using it with my MacBook Air from time-to-time, not extensively, though. Summary: What a life saver when I am in an area where I need to get into a network that doesn't have wifi access! This allows me to easily connect to any ethernet cable and plug right into my mac. The quality is high and I have had nothing but good experiences using this product.
If you don't have to have it...skip it. not worth the cost

Summary: Item broke within a week. never removed it form my mac. So this isn't a case of constantly removing it and replacing it. It over heated and no connection will flow through it now. I actually don't even think this is an Apple product. The information printed on the devise is on a sticker.
