Summary: I have 4 of the earlier tv-ip751wic cams and they have to be rebooted frequently every day even when attached with a cable. This one worked fine out of the box and doesn't have to be rebooted so far. I have it on a cable. Nice for the price but zoom doesn't do much with clarity. Ok for a cheap cam.
Summary: I hoped installing the updated firmware would help, but it made no difference, The longest it lasted was about 24 hours.
Pros: Seems solid and well constructed. Image quality was good. Install was easier than I expected.
Cons: It wouldn't stay connected longer than a day. Every time I got it working again (after re-installing) it would work for a few hours then it wouldn't connect to the "cloud" anymore. Kind of pointless if you can't see the image. I tried installing using the cable and wifi, same thing....after a day at most it no longer would connect.
Summary: Had called Trendnet support before purchasing to verify only thing needed was an Internet connection and no port forwarding or ddns were needed to control the camera and stream video, was told only thing needed was an Internet connection. The ‘cloud’ is all that was needed. Set these up at my second property and enabled the motion detection with email notification, which was very painless.
Pros: Easy setup, great image, quick ship, easy to use remote/phone app.
Cons: Requires DDNS to control remotely. Incorrect information from telephone support. No response from online case opened with Trendnet support.
Summary: Newegg wants me to pay $11 to ship defective unit back
Pros: Looks mechanically robust, if only it worked
Cons: Wouldn't install or connect to WiFi. Product support was no help. Invested 5 hours banging head against the wall!. Installation software asked to download new firmware but the link never connected to Trendiest. Router indicates unit was permanently "offline"
Summary: Bought this to replace baby monitor, but I have spent about three hours so far trying to get it to work on iphone. Got it to link to Ipad via wifi, but wont work on Iphone via 4g. In addition, now image is black and white all the time, and there is no sound, even though it is enabled. Had a zmoda camera which was even worse than this on. Does a wifi camera that is plug and play even exist?
Pros: Decent picture for the price
Cons: Hours trying to set up, and still not fully operational
Summary: I got this to scan my house in case me home alarm goes off so i can see if someone is actually inside or if something got tripped accidentally. I have no real desire to record video so this was a perfect choice for me. You have to manually adjust the focus on the unit by turning the little plastic circle around the lens, so the people saying that the picture is terrible are probably just dumb.
Pros: -Price -Cloud functionality -Surprisingly good picture -fairly easy setup -very wide viewable range -Night vision works well
Cons: -Phone App -Zoom -Somewhat large and kind of noisy during movement. -Internal MIC is pretty terrible but it does the job -No easy way to record video
Summary: Bought one from Tiger online and installed it, took a few days to perfect it but once done, it is EXCELLENT. Love having all the added featured I had not planned on having in the beginning. Also love that multiple uses can log in with their own ID and password to view the cam while the admin (e) have my own. Recommend down loading the manual from the Trendnet website as the one that comes with the cam itself is useless in actual programming and details of functions.
Excerpt: Sorry for the first 2 reviews who had problems setting up, but I thought it went very smooth. I closely followed the instructions and was watching the dogs in the living room in no time. With the free could service, there is no need to reconfigure your router. Can also operate wired if needed. Software has links to download apps for your Iphone ond Android phones/tablets. Unit seems to be built better than I was expecting.
