Summary: We have two of these in our apt. Hubby and I work different shifts and it's cool to be able to see the munchkin on our Android phones anytime we want, day or night. Nice to be able to keep an eye on our place when we are out and about too and let the relatives see the lil guy. Set up is easy, specially if you have any experience with home networks and routers.
Summary: One of the best features of this surveillance camera is that I can see what is going by using my phone. I do not always have access to my computer so this is perfect for me. It really puts my mind to ease since I can monitor what is going on with my son when I am not home.
Summary: I, like many, bought this camera to keep an eye on our puppy while working in my office, a few floors away on the other side of the house. For what it is, it's a great camera. Once configured, it does its job, and shows you video. However, it's not Mac friendly. Even in VMWare running Windows 7, I had issues configuring the camera. I've been a heavy computer user for decades (since DOS was the best thing you could get), so I know my way around things, thankfully.
Summary: I too am an "IT Guy" but this couldn't have been any easier to setup. I followed the directions exactly except I decided to use WPS. See the PDF, but basically just click on connect and click the button on your router and it's all set up. My router is only a few months old so I'm sure that helped. The colors could be better in the video but that is more of the technology available at this price point.
Summary: I purchased this camera and set it up without much trouble. Make sure to check the type of web encryption you are using on your wireless network (WEP, WPA ...). You can check, if you are not sure, by clocking the wireless icon "signal bars" on the lower right corner of you windows tool bar (usually a couple of icons away from date/time) and hold your mouse cursor over you network broadcasted name "SSID" your network uses. You should know your wireless security key.
Summary: For the price of this camera, I'm very satisfied with the results. Image quality is decent. This is a stand alone camera, no computer needs to be on at all times for remote viewing. There is a free app for the Iphone, I do recommend the paid one (It gives you full screen viewing and zoom) A little cryptic on the instruccions for set-up. You will need to connect it to a pc via ethernet (cable provided) to change the default IP to one in the range of your router.
Summary: I have no idea why the only review on this cameras is from an experienced egghead kinda guy and he hates it. I have a fair amount of experience myself not a lot in networking but I do build my own computers and have done so for many years now. I have three of these cameras all up and running perfectly and wirelessly in about an hours time with no need to call customer service at all! They are great especially at the price.
Summary: The first camera that arrived did not work. TRENDnet technical support (located in India) went through the most basic of trouble shooting for over an hour before admitting that it was indeed a faulty camera. We'll see if the second one that arrives from Amazon works any better.
Summary: Negatives: I wanted to have a nice video of my pets during the day, however, the picture is poor during day... even worse at night (see night video attached). Horrible zoom, so bad it is absolutely useless. Motion detection provides only pictures, not video. Poor customer support, foreign, blames customers for any problem. Make sure to turn OFF your computers sound as it will cause a squealing sound if left on. So far unable to get the remote 2-way sound to work...
Doesn't work with Airport Express & tech support won't support it.

Summary: This camera is not compatible with Airport Express encryption. It's not worth the hassle or trouble. Until Trendnet can figure out a plug n play device for the mac, don't spend the cash. I spoke with Trendnet's India tech support for a few hours. Then an hour with a tier two specialist in Calif who knew nothing about Apple products. In short, Apple users should pass on this Trendnet product.
