Maybe if it was < $50

Tim G., Newegg
2 March 2014
  • Summary: If this was selling for under $50 I could see the value in that. But at any price higher than that, with its low end/obsolete specs, stay away
  • Pros: POE, 2 Way Audio. more compact than bullet style camera.
  • Cons: Bundled software is weak and difficult to configure. Web interface video stream does not work citing an unresolvable java security error. Resolution is a joke. Moving the camera position is manual requiring you to open the dome, no motors. The camera connection cuts in and out at random. (Potenti...

Great for the pice!

Benjamin S., Newegg
7 February 2013
  • Pros: Does everything it says it does in the description! I have around 5 of these so far and use them at my place of work. I hooked it up to the network and set a static IP and away it went! It has already paid itself off by what I have captured on it! The POE (power over ethernet) works super slick!!
  • Cons: Does not do the best in low lighting, but then again it does not say in the description that it has night vision.

Works like a charm

Benjamin S., Newegg
13 December 2012
  • Pros: The camera does what the description says it can do. I have it mounted up on a ceiling looking down at a door with the motion censor detection on and it works perfectly.
  • Cons: It was a bit tricky to get the IP setup on the domain network, but once it was set it worked great. I wish it was a bit more clear in the dark, but it does not have night vision or anything.

Great Camera

Christophe G., Newegg
2 June 2011
  • Summary: Once it's set (manual focus/manual positioning), the image quality far exceeds other (more expensive) cameras I have running. I'll definitely buy more.
  • Pros: Clear picture. Handles motion well -- no "trails". Easy to mount.
  • Cons: Directions were somewhat vague.

No Pan and Tilt

ERIC K., Newegg
17 November 2010
  • Summary: Why even list that this camera has Pan and Tilt when it's a "manual" Pan and Tilt. Of course every camera can be manually adjusted to point to where the user wants. Frustrated that I got sucked in.
  • Pros: I don't know, I didn't use it once I found out that the Pan and Tilt was a manual operation.
  • Cons: No remote Pan and Tilt

Great idea if it worked

Anonymous, Newegg
8 November 2010
  • Summary: I think I might opt for a refund and find a better quality product. Very disappointing because I had high hopes for this.
  • Pros: Great idea!
  • Cons: Hooked it up at home as a test with just the video and worked great. Installed at a client's that wanted to have video and 2way audio. Installed microphone from Radio Shack and video screen went blank on LAN IP address in browser. Never did hear any audio. Called Trendnet tech support and they ha...

  • Summary: I used 7 cameras with a QNAP 5012 NVR for a commerical customer and they are now a great work of mouth reference, They love the system,
  • Pros: Works very well with QNAP surveillance NVR, QNAP doesnt support it but it supports other Trend Net cameras. I choose one of them and the camera loaded and performed fine.
  • Cons: Too many cables hanging from camera.
