Summary: Do not purchase this product if you are going to attempt to use it wireless!!! It works o.k with when plugged into the network, but either locked up or disconnected when wireless. Any time I attempt to click on setup with the unit wireless it locks up and must be shut down / repowered to work. It also randomly disconnects from the network even though it is only 12 feet away from my wireless router (a Cicco E1200).
Summary: This is the third wireless network camera that I have purchased and is by far the best. The quality of the images are very good even in very low light conditions. With the Wireless-N technology, I can increase distance from my router. The one issue I have is with the SecurePro software it comes with. I can connect to the camera through it's built-in web interface but the SecurePro seems to have difficulty connecting. Pros: Good picture quality. Good distance from router.
Summary: I bought six of these Trendnet wireless cameras so I could watch a sick patient in my home when I need to go out for several hours They all work fine except for one problem. When the power goes out briefly, as it does often here in Florida, the cameras lose contact. I can't reboot until I return home. They have an app to load on your smartphone for viewing. I have not been able to use the e-mail or internet features to work.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a mid-range IP camera or still not sure should you go for analog camera or IP camera then you should spend some time to get similar with Trendnet TV-IP121WN. Trendnet TV-IP121WN is a wireless N IP camera which gives 4x greater coverage and other great features are infrared night vision surveillance, motion alert triggering via http/ftp/email and so on.
Pros: + Wireless N IP camera, + Infrared for night vision surveillance, + Great flexibility mounting kit, + Easy setup & configuration, + Motion alert triggering via http/email/ftp, + Compliment PC & mobile phone apps, + 3 year warranty
Cons: - Looking forward for greater resolution, - No working with iPhone safari, - No audio alert triggering
Summary: I purchased this item from another online retailer for 60 bucks free shipping. I have to admit I bought this only because of the price offered and if it was anything more than 60, I would not have bought it. Anyway, I am SO SO happy that i bought this camera. The setup was super simple, probably took 5 minutes maximum and you do not need to be an IT buff.
Summary: I purchased this despite some of the negative reviews here and elsewhere. The first thing I did after unboxing was download the latest firmware from Trendnet's site (V184.108.40.206, released in Oct. 2010). After flashing the firmware, I set up the camera on my wifi network using a static IP w/o UPnP (static port mapping on my firewall for out-of-home viewing), WPA2-PSK encryption, and motion detection set to email me through my SMTP server.
Summary: All I can say is that it took me several hours to get this camera working and, then, once it started to work, it kept dropping its the wireless connection, requiring a re-boot. Needless to say, I returned it and purchased a Foscam IP camera that works fine.
Summary: I bought this camera about a month ago. I faced the same problem than another user wrote in his review. I just couldn't configure the camera and it gets really really hot, so I first opened a service ticket with Trendnet and the only thing they kept saying was to set up an static IP to setup the camera , so i did, but the camera wouldn't appear in my browser to continue the configuration.
Summary: The software did not down load correctly after several attempts and the chip in the wireless camera unit got very hot and did not work after about an hour of trying to set up the computer/camera wireless connection. Eventually a combination of poor software and poorly engineered hardware crashed my computer. I returned the item, it was totally useless.
