Summary: It is said to only support IE, however I did not get any video, only the controls showed up I tried several machines. I d the firmware and still no video. With other browsers I got video but no controls. So I contacted or tried TP-Link 4 times with no response. Would have rated it a ZERO, but I had to at least one star.
Pros: None as it would not work.
Cons: Extremely poor technical support from TP-Link, as in non-responsive.
Summary: This is a great wireless netcam for the money. It easily competes with cameras twice the price of this one. The 2-way audio feature is nice but there is no built in speaker and so you must attach your own speaker to the output jack that is provided. I use a mac and it works fine in daily use with safari, firefox, etc.
Pros: Great image in good light. Works well with most any web browser. Good Motion Detection. Nice 2-way audio feature. Good wireless range. Small and not very expensive.
Cons: Some features like motion control setup can only be accomplished using Internet Explorer. Text Overlay Banner wont accept more than 8 characters. Bad low light video quality. No built in speaker for 2-way audio feature.
Summary: I bought this because it said it was Mac compatible. It's not. I borrowed a friend's PC and every 10 seconds or so it disconnects and it takes about 30 seconds to come back. Even their tech support (who are knowledgeable and helpful) couldn't get it going. Can't get it to record audio or video or even take stills. You can see on your screen what the camera sees and that's about it.
Summary: My favorite camera for cheap installations. Tried a few other brands of same category (like trendnet and dlink), but let me down so far. The problems I faced with the other ones but not with tp link are the following: - not so stable, plenty OS crashes - wifi disconnect regularly - colors are not depicted properly , especially black - high noise in dark - sometimes java not available - poor menu, streaming options, video options I strongly suggest this cheap ipcam.
Summary: This product is useless. I bought it because the feature set looked good on paper and the price was right. But the main reason for buying this model rather than the base 3130 is that it (purported) to offer wifi connectivity. I have now spent the best part of two days attempting to get the thing to work - without any success.
Summary: I just bought one of these based on the feature set, price and compatibility with my Synology DS411j. When it arrived the first thing I did was upgrade the firmware (which was about 2 years older than the most recent version available on the TP-Link website...) but that only took a couple of minutes and installation after that was a breeze. No wireless problems for me at all, it's working flawlessly several rooms away from the router.
Summary: I have just given up with this camera. I bought two and both had problems. 1. The installer had trouble finding them 2. They were useless in low light 3. They lost connection every few minutes, if not one, then it was the other. I have spent three days trying to get them working at one point thinking it was my network settings at fault. (I am not a novice when it comes to networking). 4.
Summary: The product provides a complete set of settings but fails to keep the wireless connection. Whether during setup or monitoring it continuously disconnects after a short period of time. I am very dissatisfied with this camera.
