Summary: Never worked wireless. I tried many times and contacted support about 4 times. I waited a long time to get someone everytime I called. There was not support from the manufacturer. Finally I gave up. I don't have the patience to waste time when they did not know what was wrong. Real garbage.
Summary: Don't buy this product, its outdated and doesn't work properly with the security systems in todays Operating Systems. So you have to leave the security off to make it work. It was so outdated we had to give up on it. Even with a Wireless G router.
Summary: I would give this a ZERO star if I could. The internet cam is a pile of junk. I began setting up the camera, and as I got to the end the found out the junk did not work at all.. SAVE YOUR MONEY, buy another one.
Summary: I wish I could give it a negative number.
Camera arrived defective. Would not connect wirelessly. Software only works with XP! Called customer support - Linksys agent said he would have to charge me! Camera had arrived 30 minutes ago .. new in the box ... and the customer support agent wanted to charge me for his support. I hung up on the guy .. tried the chat line .. guy was nice ... but after 1 hour he even agreed the thing was dead on arrival.
Summary: I have two Linksys IP cameras. This one was a terrible disappointment. The other one is fine. As stated by others, the WVC54GC only works with ActiveX in an Internet Explorer browser. No Firefox. I had to call support to find out how to get images to show in Internet Explorer. (They were responsive and nice...) Had to override two settings in Internet Explorer...
The camera did come with a complete manual - in Spanish. No English manual. I don't speak Spanish yet...
Summary: Overlooking the fact that one of the cameras arrived without a power supply, I set the other two up. There are some bugs in the software that caused the PC to error out. After a reasonably straightforward setup, the cameras eventually worked for about an hour before dropping off the system and becoming invisible to the router until powered down and up. This happened repeatedly, Tech Support sent me updated firmware but this appeared to make things worse.
Summary: The software is buggy and fails to deliver on the simple task of showing me videos from while I was gone. I cannot set up the camera to my D-Link router wirelessly, and it works poorly even if connected to the router directly. I have had it for about 2 months and I have yet to get it working. [...] I wouldn't reccomend this.
Pros: Software is easy to setup. Sololink DDNS is great.
Cons: This camera is useless in low light conditions. No adjustment what-so-ever for brightness or contrast. Sent it to Linksys and was sent a replacement with marginal improvement and no wireless function. Could not get it to acquire an ip-address even though my laptop easily acquired one.
Summary: I have purchased a number of Linksys products over the years and have had only good experiences with them all. On the few occasions where I needed a bit of guidance their Tech Support was excellent. I expected nothing less when I bought this webcam but I was in for a shock. Camera setup for continuous mode was quite easy but after only a few hours of recording to my hard drive it became intermittent with long periods when nothing was recorded.
