Whether you want to add surveillance to your home or start up some pervy voyeur website, your best bet is to get your hands on a camera that plugs directly into your network. This model supports both wired Ethernet and the speedy 802.11g Wi-Fi standard. The camera isn't motorised, so you can't, say, pan around a room, but image quality is very good and it's a cinch to set up thanks to the LCD display, which shows its IP address when it's logged onto your network. It's... Read more

Verdict Impressive as the technology is, this video camera is on the expensive side and has the potential to be tricky to set up, especially if you’re not linking it to other Linksys devices. It does its job well though and, if you’re looking for a wireless device to stream live video on the web, it can’t be beaten. Read more

Wi-Fi cameras for home security ought to be a no-brainer, and at this price, the Linksys pretty much is. We just wish it worked seamlessly cross-browser, and took better pictures. Read more

This is a great product for the price. Picture is pretty good when you adjust the settings for the environment. However, the DDNS service that linksys provides is useless. It will not keep the correct IP address at all times. It seems to hit & miss. Overall, I will purchase several of these for home use. Read more

I have purchased a number of Linksys products over the years and have had only good experiences with them all. On the few occasions where I needed a bit of guidance their Tech Support was excellent. I expected nothing less when I bought this webcam but I was in for a shock. Camera setup for continuous mode was quite easy but after only a few hours of recording to my hard drive it became intermittent with long periods when nothing was recorded. Setup for Detection Mode... Read more

  3. Good Buy

Bought mine May2009, never had to reset it, no outages, attached to a NetGear router.      I, too, get many false positives on motion detection and simply put up with it.    I have it set to create 3-second ASF videos on motion detection and have em upload to my webhost, probably get 20-200 per day, less if pointed indoors. When I download em to my WinXP PC, I have Windows Explorer generate thumbnails, which helps me to weed out which captures are false/duds. V... Read more

Linksys always makes products that are sturdy and alot of attention is put in the software right out of the box. Run software plug in USB and the rest is usually easy... Until you try to run wireless applications... I had to call in TECH support through a chat session in half an hour they had me running or in this case watching... Only problem is the application only works in vista 32 or lower so all my how pc are basically dead ... WHEN will designer ever learn? Read more
