Good cam. Integration needs work

Redneck, Staples
18 December 2014
  • Excerpt: This seems like a good cam from a trusted name. I like the D-Link hardware and cloud features. However, I purchased it for my Staples Connect system and the integration and the information could be better. When I first added it to the system, all I could do is view the camera.

Good Value, Average Camera

Lance W., Newegg
12 August 2014
  • Summary: I had very high hopes for this little camera, but I found the bundled software to be extremely lacking. I ended up pairing the camera with iSpy (great open-source, free software that's fully compatible with this camera, and thousands of others) and found that the sensor on this camera is extremely...
  • Pros: Small profile, built in Wireless N, 30 fps recording, decent software bundle, somewhat easy setup (when it works), option to wire the camera with ethernet, very low power consumption, wall mounting kit included, pretty long power cable, very low price (at least he sale price), average night visio...
  • Cons: Included software doesn't do enough, IR vision is weak (at best), field of view is extremely narrow, sensor is extremely susceptible to light changes (triggers motion with most software), camera occasionally shuts itself down or stops transmitting, IR is useless behind glass, built in microphone ...

OK Camera for an OK Price

Bernardo R., Newegg
13 July 2014
  • Summary: Overall, this isn’t the best camera for keeping your house secure...I would say the best option this can be used for is a nanny cam. I am disappointed with the online interface of managing the camera and its advanced features.
  • Pros: Well, before I got this camera to review, I actually owned the previous generation (932-L). This product has great small packaging with not a lot of waste (so very eco-friendly). In the box you get the camera, a power cord, an ethernet cord and the instructions as well as some product info pamphl...
  • Cons: The biggest let down on this device is doing the advanced features of the device. After initial setup, there is nothing to tell you how to setup the advanced features. The way I knew how to get to them was from using its older brother. First you must determine the IP address of the device from yo...

Great camera, does every thing that it says, a bear to set up.

rdh340, Amazon
23 June 2014
  • Summary: Purchased the camera with great expectations, tried to set up with my limited knowledge of static ip, dynamic ip, upnp enabling, and dynamic dns workaround. It finally worked through a third party remotely working on my computer and calling the support staff twice, which I learned a lot from and...

Camera = Good , Firmware = Not So Much.......

Amazon Customer, Amazon
9 June 2014
  • Summary: Really like the camera and it's feature set. Unfortunately, after upgrading the firmware to the latest version (1.23) it no longer recorded to SD Card and would not send email notifications.

Not bad

xcgfatboy, Amazon
28 May 2014
  • Summary: This camera works good but doesn't have a very wide view, something like 40-50 deg. So you may need a few for each room. Also you can record on the SD card, but it still has to go through the internet to do that.

Not quite ready for primetime

Eddie H Ziv, Amazon
1 March 2014
  • Summary: Let me start by saying that the system works and effective, but it's plagued with software issues, and not quite up-to-date image quality. If you use iPad/iPod/iPhone the setup is quick and easy, however I have yet to be able to watch recording on SD-Card. When I tried, it crashes.

Fair

D. Brown, Amazon
27 January 2014
  • Summary: Easy to get hooked into the internet. Once logged in, the video quality is not the best but, it will do. I get the impression that it has to be close to a wireless connection to work well.

jeff5267, B&H Photo
1 October 2013
  • Excerpt: No complaints with B&H... Ease of placing order and the ability to track shipping were outstanding... Dlink camera is OK... Maybe if you have all Dlink equipment it might be easier to set up... But if you don't... It is a difficult proccess...
  • Cons: Faulty, Unreliable

Ok camera, terrible mobile software

Stephen W., Newegg
30 August 2013
  • Pros: Easy initial setup, works with 3rd party apps, works with my Synology NAS, DVR software works
  • Cons: day/night auto mode is worthless, more like an always night unless its outside in direct sunlight mode. Night mode IR illuminators only work for 15 ft. I have to leave a light on in the garage to see anything with the doors shut. Mobile app sucks. It takes multiple attemps to connect to a camera ...
