Summary: Got this to monitor the front door/entry of my business so people in the back could see if someone came in and no one was there to help them. product works great but the interface times out and is not very user friendly. Cant run consistently in the background and multi task so you need to dedicate a computer or tablet for that use.
Summary: this camera failed from overheating I suspect. got an RMA from Dlink to return at my cost for shipping. Received the replacement unit from Dlink and could not perform setup on the camera. have given up trying to get dlink technical support on the line to help me troubleshoot the replacement camera. was on hold three time for over thirty minutes and gave up finally. am not going to spend another 7 dollars to send a defective camera back to them again.
Excerpt: I originally had an Axis camera... B&H turned me onto these cameras from Dlink... they do have a lot of features that are nice, the Dlink website and App for them are nice... The free App [*]is superior to the inexpensive paid one....The complaint I have about the cameras is twofold... first, the field of view is pretty narrow. I'd like it wider... and... and this is not unique to Dlink... the aspect ratio of the camera is 4x3...
Excerpt: The camera is a decent value and works fairly well considering its price. For access to setup and options, you only need to point your web browser to the unit's default IP address and log in.For D-Link's free online and iOS app access for remote online viewing, you must register the camera.
Pros: Compact, Inexpensive, Networking options
Cons: Buggy software, Poor support, SHORT power cord
Excerpt: Had issues with java applet download. Wouldn't load automatically. Resolved by accessing via guest user session vs. primary user. Suspect incompatible user programs or windows 7 registry interference from another loaded application on primary user session.
Pros: Easy To Set Up
Cons: Had web setup issues, Low Resolution, Poor in low light
Excerpt: Automatic setup using Wifi Enabled Secure Setup would not work. Auto install would not work. I had to manually update the networking information in order to get pics. mydlink has no manual setup. You have to complete the wizard to register and if the wizard doesn't complete, you can't get to a MyDlink REgistration. Needs to be a manual method. Will call tech support to try to work this out.
Excerpt: Easy to setup, works with ddns for viewing outside your network. Good in daylight, bad with low light. email/FTP auto picture sending with motion detection (did not use the motion detection). Viewable with Android 3.1 tablet. Good price for what you get. I returned it because I wanted a sharper/better picture.
Summary: It is relative easy but video quality and motion detect is not as good as I thought. Well you paid what you get. Email me a lot of false alarm. Do they know open the email to see the image is painful if too many at one time.
