Terrible!

Jobie, B&H Photo
24 July 2014
  • Excerpt: This camera worked for 5 seconds but wouldn't hook up to my network. It tried several times and even tried to reboot my router. This camera is evil! The whole mydlink thing is garbage as well. Can't sign up unless camera is working, can't troubleshoot if not signed in, can't sign in because camera won't work.
  • Cons: Faulty, Low Quality, Unreliable

A piece of junk

R. Nazzaro, Amazon
10 June 2014
  • Summary: Let me begin by telling you that I have been a computer software developer since 1982 so I am very familiar with computers. As for this camera, I bought one in 2013 and it works fine. Then I bought a second one about 9 months later and it simply would not setup. After an hour on the phone with D-Link tech support they determined that it was a bad camera so I returned it.

Worked eventually

AverageJO, Amazon

  • Summary: Our requirements were very basic; we wanted to be able to look in on the house while at work. It would help us to ensure that the babysitter was actually sitting and that the pet sitters weren't robbing us blind. I've had mixed results with D Link products in the past, but the price was too tempting to pass up. I set up the camera first using WPS. However, the installation wizard on my PC kept insisting it couldn't find the camera.

Absolutely useless.

Jay H., Amazon
8 April 2014
  • Summary: I'm an IT guy and already have a DLINK DCS-2132L that I love....welp, with this thing you get what you pay for. No matter what I did the camera would NOT connect to my router via WPS; searching for a wireless network in the setup wizard could not find my network (to be fair, had the same problem with the other camera) but when I tried to connect via WPS it finds signal for 5 seconds...and then disconnects. I tried rebooting the router, resetting the camera, nothing.

D-Link DCS930L wireless n network camera

scottsthoughts, Staples
13 March 2014
  • Excerpt: This is a nice camera, works great.Don't use the CD supplied. The CD is outdated.Go to mydlink.com to get your downloads and setup for the camera there.I will tell you that you have to be very knowledgeable in how to update the firmware and software. It will challange you.I use the wi-fi,it is good for about 20' from router. The picture is very good for a low-priced camera, and only day light use.Has microphone also, picks up sound well.I would recommend for basic security.
  • Pros: Basic Security, Discreet, Good picture, Iphone App That Works, Wireless Able
  • Cons: Challenging Setup, Lousy Instructions

Just ok....

JWP, Amazon
23 January 2014
  • Summary: Got this to monitor the front door/entry of my business so people in the back could see if someone came in and no one was there to help them. product works great but the interface times out and is not very user friendly. Cant run consistently in the background and multi task so you need to dedicate a computer or tablet for that use.

Love the camera but wireless a hassle

Carol S., B&H Photo
22 January 2014
  • Excerpt: If I wanted to run the camera attached to my router, it would have been a snap to do. However, I needed it to run wirelessly. I contacted Dlink and their support person had me do a firmware update and get their latest install wizard from their website. It took time, but I got it working. For the money and the application I needed it for, it is doing a wonderful job! I will say that the mic is very sensitive.
  • Pros: Compact, Inexpensive, Security, Web Viewable
  • Cons: Mic Too Sensitive, Wireless Setup A Hassle
