Summary: Picture could be clearer around the edges. Wish it had image flattening, but beggars can't be choosers. Use it for monitoring every inch of a 16x12 processing room in a Washington I502 business. Works well enough. Love that it can record directly to NAS, saves my NVR from having to do extra work.
Summary: These cameras work well. I do run mine with the Power-over-Ethernet option in place (meaning I removed the power supply and let the PoE switch power them over CAT5). This has been fairly stable. I have 10 of these cameras, some inside, some outside.
Excerpt: I have installed all sorts of cameras from Mobotix to Vivotek to Panasonic. I'm not a fan of dlink but this camera was super easy to install and add to the network. The Apple app for the iPad and iPhone work great. Some times there is a video lag but that could due to the slow 3G network.
Summary: Excellent jack of all trades. Minus one star for picture quality but really can't complain. I purchased this as a doorbell cam -- I wanted something with POE and built in speakers and mic. This delivers quite well. First off, POE for me is a must -- makes the install very simple.
Summary: I am in charge of installing cameras in multiple buildings on my WAN. I used "better" cameras in the first building due to the need for high-quality video if anything were ever to happen there.
Pros: Easily blends in by looking like a smoke detector --- can take the place of 4 cameras --- easy to setup --- better low-light image than a similar, but more expensive camera I've used
Cons: No Power Over Ethernet --- Only records the video the way that it is configured as opposed to being able to Pan/Tilt/Zoom once it's been recorded --- no software in the box and the downloadable software is useless in a server/monitor situation --- IR lights for night vision?
Excerpt: These network cloud cameras are nice, I bought 2. I did notice when I opened the shipped box that one of cameras wrapping was already open and with closer inspection one of the cameras was used. After installing I had to go to the mydlink cloud and change the cameras owner. Both cameras worked fine.
Summary: After going plenty of research on outdoor IP PoE cams, I decided on this one. PROS: PoE, local storage, NAS support, Web based config, remote viewing CONS: viewing previous recorded video is only supported on the local storage (sd micro).
