It's an okay pan & tilt day/night camera if you're using the mydlink system

Brandon Eley, Amazon
17 July 2015
  • Summary: This D-Link DCS-5222L wireless HD pan & tilt camera does what it is supposed to do, but the web interface and apps are clunky and unintuitive. I have this connected to the D-Link DNR-202L recorder, but have accessed it's web interface directly as well. Neither is intuitive.

OK at first, but having some issue after a few months

rfab, Amazon
3 June 2015
  • Summary: The firmware has improved on this camera, but it it still difficult to set up. More importantly, the motion detection has stopped emailing (or FTPing, or anything other than logging the fact that motion was detected. This was working well in place and I performed a firmware update.

Trying to make up my mind on this thing.

Pam, Staples
8 September 2014
  • Excerpt: I purchased this camera to keep an eye on my business when I couldn't be there. Setting up the camera was fairly easy. It connected right away with the CAT5 cable, but when I put it to wireless, it took a couple of attempts to connect. Still only took me about 25 minutes, so not bad.

WHAT A HASSLE!

Makell Bird "www.makellbird.info", Amazon
28 August 2014
  • Summary: 2 things that bothered me about this. My MacBook Air would not recognize this thing no matter what I did. And their website can't be viewed from a Mac because the software on their website runs through Java... If you're a Mac user I WOULD NOT buy this.

Decent little camera

PJDSR, Amazon
24 June 2014
  • Summary: Nice little camera, but you have the same issues with all the D-Links, the software stinks and you HAVE TO put a username and password on EVERY camera. Quite the burden, especially when you move one. You have to keep a spread sheet of the camera Name and Password and Location to keep them straightl.

The newer B1 Revision is out there. DO NOT BUY THIS OLDER version. Or should you?

FIXINGSTILL, Amazon
31 May 2014
  • Summary: If you go to bestbuy, you will find the B1 revision which is supposed to be better (at least it has speaker built-in) but if you read the reviews there, you will find out it might not be the case. If you have to buy one, you might want to stick with the original.

Ok...when it works.

CL "CL", Amazon
26 May 2014
  • Summary: Ok so bear with me. The product it's self seems ok. It's rather large so forget trying to hide this and use it as a nanny cam. I like the camera but I left off two starts for the actual service. This is a cloud based camera meaning it only works when the service works.

Almannaee, Amazon
10 May 2014
  • Summary: the camera is great, picture is clear. I liked the camera except for one thing, there is a lag when I try the camera movement (pan and tilt), even thou I was withing the home network. it takes time to response.

Does the same as the lower model 5020

Ivan F., Amazon
21 April 2014
  • Summary: It does what it says, but after buying the product I had the chance to compare it with the 5020 that a friend has and I couldn't see a difference in the image quality. The digital zoom is useless and remote operation through the android app is preatty slow and I don't mean the connection is slow,...
