Summary: I really want to like this camera. Good form factor, IR, PoE, great price, good video quality. However, I can't get the video to work reliably. H.264 and MPEG4 constantly hang / disconnect. I have to use MJPEG (much less efficient) to get any kind of consistent performance. Running latest firmware.
Summary: Don't believe the PTZ part, note it says ePTZ? That means the camera won't move, it will just zoom in on an area which you ask it too. Propritary software and again, you HAVE TO assign every camera a USERNAME and DIFFERENT password. Bad software.
Really good. Best value when considering picture/features/price
18 October 2013
Summary: Pros: - Great picture quality - VERY easy to set up. - Very easy to control - Mic is very sensitive Cons: - Web interface is VERY different when comparing PC (Using Internet Explorer) to any other browser. Mac is missing features because the activex won't install due to the browser choices.
Excerpt: I bought it for the power over ethernet, but ended up getting usable night vision capability. Our use is inside one smaller indoor room. There can be a 2-3 second lag before the image appears on the browser depending on codec or "video channel" which I didn't expect.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good in Low Light, Many Options Features
Summary: Very poor for the price. Performance is what I would expect from a £30 ebay noname camera. The web interface is straight from the 1990s and live video does not work with linux via the web browser. It's got a very narrow field of view and the image quality is not great.
Summary: Plug-n-Play could use a little work, I had no shortage of initial problems connecting to it (and I'm in IT for a living!) but once connected it did what I asked of it with the motion detection removing quite a lot of the drudgery of having to trawl through footage.
