Excerpt: My fiance and I purchased this camera to check and see what our dogs are doing when we aren't home. The camera has a good picture quality and setting it up was very simple. The only cons is that the audio quality isn't that great and the mic, when you speak sounds muffled.
Excerpt: I bought two of these units and they are OK, I'm looking to get more camera's in the future and would probably look at something else. The Netcam app is easy to install and operate, it has a sleek appearance and is a very neat small unit. The video and still images are only OK, the motion sensing notifications are a pain, I get 50+ emails a day about motion "sensed" when there is no motion in the room, I have changed the sensitivity levels but that didn't change this...
Summary: This is a basic camera to monitor with. As others have stated the night vision is limited or none functioning if you try to view through a window, the reflection makes night viewing worthless. The motion detection is hard to adjust, I had it activated the first day and received about 100 emails, mostly of stupid movement, even changing light patterns can trigger an email. Sensitivity will be hard to fine tune.
Summary: So far so good! The set up was a bit frustrating. It took 2-3 tries to set it up, but once I got past that phase, I was happy! I'm actually impressed with this camera. I have to work out the audio part and speaking into the microphone; only tried it once. The movement is a little choppy, but not really a big deal. And for the price, it works great and does the job. The email alerts detecting movements also came quickly.
Summary: I purchased two cameras to help keep an eye on my elderly mother. These were very easy to set up and work well. The only cons I may have is if all the lights are out the night vision is very dark and cannot see hardly anything. I have Lorex cameras for my own home and the night vision is much better with them. Only other con is I wish I could zoom in and out. Other than that, they do the job pretty well.
